In this game, you can single-handedly liberate entire cities and wipe out countless armies of orcs—only to die in seconds because a pack of wolfy boys decided you’d be their midnight snack.

Gothic 1 and 2 were like raw, gritty diamonds of RPG magic, and then Gothic 3 shows up like a cracked piece of glass pretending to sparkle. It’s hard not to feel betrayed, after two cult classics, you’d expect greatness, but what you get instead is an unpolished mess that makes you wish you’d just replayed Gothic 2 instead.

When this game first came out it was soooo buggy. I remember i bought a whole new system just to try to play it better. But the potential was so exciting, I never was able to put it down altogether. Now with the new player made patches, it works really well and is still fun to play almost 20 years later.

Love this game, for all of its often pointed-out flaws. It's just fun and beautiful. Make sure to install the Community Patch.

A huge immersive world with amazing soundtrack and so much to explore. The story can be a bit shallow (in particular if compared to the predecessors), which is a bummer.

Gothic 3 is an ambitious open-world RPG that throws you into the war-torn realm of Myrtana, offering vast landscapes, faction-driven quests, and the freedom to shape your own path. Its non-linear design and immersive atmosphere are standout strengths, but technical issues and a clunky combat system mar the experience. With community patches, it becomes playable and even enjoyable, but out of the box, it’s a rough ride. A cult classic for patient adventurers—less so for casual players

I'm not going to downvote but I wasn't able to get far in this since the last time I tried my keyboard wouldn't work. I wish there was a third option besides yes or no for games like this.

it really is hard to find good RPGs these days especially ones that give me the same wow and sense of adventure as skyrim and this is one of those rare few i know it's old but i love it and modding it is super easy probably the easiest game ever to fix and i'm someone who knows nothing about computers.
