A great game to spend months of life on. (I still don't understand how navy works...)

The game is great tho the dlcs cost a arm and a leg so glad the game has a workshop though my ratings Fun 9/10 Focus trees 7/10 Watching the funny colours on the map change 74/10 Killing France 1000000/10 Overall 10/10 great game

DLC prices are expensive and exaggerated, and things that should be basic in the game were put as DLC.

If you value your life than give a second thought before buying this game, because looking back I regret of how much time I spent in the game, knowing that I could have spent it in better way.

before you even consider buying this game, please think about these few things- 1) Can you talk to girls? 2) Do you have a social life? 3) Would people miss you? The more questions you answered yes to, the less suitable this game is for you. Firstly, talking to girls and being a good HoI4 player are mutually exclusive. Secondly, you'll never have a social life after buying this. You will stay up until 1 in your man cave talking to yourself while playing this game. Finally, if people would miss you, they would most likely attempt to see you, disturbing you while you attempt to micromanage the Eastern front and beat the Soviets into submission. But overall 11/10, would play forever

every person that has 30000 hours on this game keeps telling me it sucks so i tried it and i could tell this would activate my autism if i tried to go in too deep so yeah stay safe and stay away

Don't waste your time with it. If you're susceptible, you'll play it for hours on end and feel hollow for it. If you're getting a couple friends together to run through some focus trees on a major mod (vanilla is empty, even if you pay $100s for the DLCs it will all be inferior to playing any of the overhaul mods), it can be a good experience. But, anything can be fun with friends if you like your friends, and you should just go play Civ or Stellaris or Helldivers or something. This is probably one of Paradox's worst flagship series.

if u want a decent war strat stay away. a state youve all but taken over can just become a puppet of someone else your at war with and get all there territory back instantly cutting off your entire front line losing you the entire game. everytime i come back to this game it gets worse.

Hearts of iron 4, a game of strategy, history and conflict. This game is very fun once you get to know the basics. Learning the game at the start is very tedious but It's all worth it in the end. The game allows you to play historically or make your own history. I myself currently as of typing this review do not have any DLCs. Still the game still did not disappoint. I do recommend before playing the game, to learn as much geography as possible for smooth learning. Don't forget to learn the history too!
