Gameplay

Each level of Necromonads consists of a number of Colonists and Infection shelters that the colonists try to run to. The Necromonads will attempt to capture and infect the fleeing colonists. To accomplish this they upduct them as the flee and bring them to the top of the screen. Once to the top of the screen the colonist becomes infected and dropped back down them.

Once infected they spit virus bile to nearby colonists causing the infection to spread. Your job as Star Pilot is to stop the Necros long enough for the colonists to get to the shelters, Moving to the next level occurs when all colonists are accounted for and more then 50% of the remaining colonists are safe in the shelter. The Necros will send various different forms after you to stop you as you progress.

Simple defender clone with a zombie mechanic. Your fellow spacefriends at the bottom walk to some bunkers, if they get snacked by the evil spaceships coming from above they turn into zombies and spread the infection to adjacent fellow space friends. It is your job to not let that happen by shooting the baddies out of the sky. Later levels have some walls that prevent the lil guys getting to the bunker, unless you bomb these wall things with your secondary weapon. Theres some more enemy types I havent seen yet since it also has defender style difficulty. Delivers what it claims to, Defender style gameplay. Didn't encounter any bugs so far, had decent fun flying the lil spaceship around. I'd recommend it tho I have only played half an hour. Picked it up at a 40% discount.

There are still several other changes that would need to be made before I would recommend this game to anybody. Good sound and music, but that's pretty much the only aspect I liked about Necromonads. The screen curvature can be removed, but only by darkening the overall image, which makes it look even worse. - No d-pad support on dual-analogue gamepads. Also, the game does not have "Full controller support" as it claims. You can pause the game using the start button, but the only way to unpause it is using the keyboard. - The game is locked at 60 FPS, which is fine, but there are frame-pacing issues that cause stutter when flying across the map. How much this bothers you will depend on how sensitive you are to stuttering (a fair amount, in my case). All those problems could be overlooked, but Necromonad's bi...
