FINAL FANTASY VII

This is of course one of the greatest jrpgs in history. Its not the game that's the problem. Its the port. This is a god awful PC port. Controller support is iffy, keyboard controls are terrible and crashes for no reason are inexcusable considering how there isn't always a save point available.

one of the greatest, and most groundbreaking RPGs of all time. If you want to get into the RPG scene, this is a great Start point, because its DNA is scene everywhere from Expedition 33, to Undertale. Final Fantasy 7's influence is widespread.

This is gaming history. It didn’t just sell millions of copies—it helped sell the PlayStation 1 itself along side crash bandicoot and gran turismo. it introduced an entire generation to JRPGs. If you want to see where modern RPGs got their formula, this is where you start. The Materia system is a masterpiece. Still fucking peak. one of the smartest RPG mechanics ever created. It’s simple to understand but incredibly deep. It’s the kind of system that rewards both casual play and obsessive tinkering. Knights of the Round + Mime + W-Summon → The “make some popcorn” combo. You summon 13 godlike knights, Mime it endlessly, and just watch bosses melt while you don’t press a button for 20 minutes. Absolutely worth the grind. Quadra Magic + Comet/Ultima → The “let’s break the PlayStation” combo. 4 casts of your strongest spell in a row—sometimes lagging the game harder than Sephiroth’s fire walk. Counter + Mime → The “controller plays itself” setup. Enemy...

Final Fantasy VII (Classic) is truly a masterpiece. Even after all these years, the story remains powerful and unforgettable, with deep themes of friendship, loss, and hope. The character development is outstanding every party member feels unique, with their own struggles and growth. The world-building is rich and immersive, from bustling cities to mysterious ruins, and the soundtrack still gives me chills. While the graphics show their age, the emotional weight and narrative depth more than make up for it. This game isn’t just about battles it’s about a journey that stays with you long after the credits roll. A timeless classic that every RPG/JRPG fan should experience.

Little did mfs back in 1997 know that their perception of gaming would change forever. FFVII is legendary.

i imagine im biased about the quality of the port because i sorted 7th heaven modmanager before launching it which streamlined controller setup and possibly drm issues (?) + has all the bells and whistles you want from modern ports like speedup and whatever... which should be included in the base port and not external software (so ports on other platforms might be better? heard good things about the switch one) big recommend for playing ff7 itself though its absolutely worth the time. not a flawless game but its popular and renowned for a reason (and that reason is it's good) shout out to the art direction and music i was blown away by many set pieces

great game, too bad 20 hours of it were lost when my computer crashed. I finally had the heart to play it again last night. this time my save data just disappeared and left me with NEW GAME. fuck SE

I'm seriously disappointed. FFVII is a classic game, but this port is unplayable. Character slow walks and can't run. Screen doesn't render properly; it jumps/shakes as you move around. I was able to purchase and play the game on PS5 so I can confirm the issues are related only to the PC port. Maybe some people can make it work on their PCs, but I wasn't able to. Buyer beware.

It has an excellent story, and it parallels greatly with todays society. And, terrorism rules. Great, rich story. PTSD. Excellent gameplay.

From what I’ve found this isn’t a very good pc port, just emulate the PS1 version with DuckStation.
