Sid Meier's Civilization® IV

Review after one game* Civ 4 feels like the game that was the transition period from old Civ gameplay to modern gameplay that you see with 5 and 6 etc and i even can see elements here that would be used for the console game Civ Revolution. I like how this game plays compared to the others for my specific tastes. 6 is very complicated and requires a lot of learning, 5 is way more new player friendly and probably more modern than 4 here and 3 which i remember playing 3 as a kid but had no idea what i was doing so for me 4 is a happy medium comfort in the series. I would like to know though if someone can tell me which version to play as you get the base game and the expansions but the expansions are categorized separate launched titles not dlc for the base game

Absolutely love it I see why it's a timeless classic, I just can't figure out how to get it to start without having to hit control+alt+delete and then cancelling that. it's weird the screen will go black and won't go anywhere, I even sat there for 10 minutes but the moment I hit control+alt+delete and then cancel it, it immediately starts the game. I don't know why, but either way the game still plays. 8.5 out of 10

One of the few civ games I've ever completed a full game of...in beginner mode...as the Americans. EZ game

smooth and easy

Yes, it's old-fashioned and yes, I'm playing it again after having played it when it first came out. It's still fun and very complicated in terms of management and whatnot. It's also a great distraction.
