After Darksiders 1, this game disappointed me. First, the technical stuff. The number of bugs and crashes I have encountered is pretty bad. Every area has its own set of issues, ranging from progression locks and crashes to doors not opening. If you search for most bugs, you will find a solution but it was not worth it in the end. This game also required a frame lock to play the game on newer hardware, which you can't do in-game and need to force it from external software. Secondly, the game is dated. The open world serves no purpose other than to increase your travel time. Most of the self-contained dungeons are fine or even good and the game would have been much better if they went the Darksiders 1 route of semi-open world. The Diablo-like colour-coded gear progression is honestly a waste of time, especially since it's just surface level with 3 elements and some damage/healing bonus. The combat generally is better, but the lock-on system is still bad even with early 2010 standard...

I first played this on the 360 and never got back to it after the big golem boss. Collect 3 things to collect 3 things to collect 3 things to collect 3 things. Cool hack and slash game, although very artificially inflated playtime and repetitive combat. Death is less edgy than War, but still rather funny to play as, due how broody and gritty he is. Combat is fun, fast paced and hits feel good. There are some variation of secondary weapons and a few combos, but its mostly button mashing. Lots of padding, dungeons are way too long, requires a lot of backtracking. When you think you are finally finishing a dungeon, you find out you just finished part 1 out 4. 20 hours in, I was about around the mid point, I'd say. Seem everything in this game requires you to find 3 rocks or 3 keys to progress. Then you need to get an item and that item needs 3 other items. "Hey Death, to bring back mankind you need to talk to this guy and ask him about to bring mankind back." "Death, I require you to ...

Darksiders 1-3 - 100% Completion - Short Review Franchise Score: 8/10 Been much too long since i played these games to give them a proper review but decided to make this short review in anticipation and support of the newly announced Darksiders 4 game. Overall this game and the others in the franchise are all amazing games with fun combat, good story and overall just old school gaming fun really and i enjoyed all of them, so if your in doubt, don't be, their great and you will have fun playing them, but as always, It's.. Up.. To.. You, and i'll leave it at that (^_−).

Darksiders 2 is an interesting game. If you expected it to be like darksiders 1, this is a different type of game. Death levels up, unlocks fighting abilities, gets random weapon drops. It is more diablo like than zelda like. This game suffers from several unfortunate issues you need to know so you'll have a good time with it. 1- on modern systems, this game will run at a higher fps than it was designed to be able to handle. This means it can lock itself into a permanent loading screen on some areas pretty frequently. The workaround is simple : lock fps at 60 at driver level. Take that opportunity to also lock out vertical sync. 2- vertical sync is not correctly handled by the game. don't enable it and disable it at driver level. 3- you absolutely want to use a controller : some of the inventory cannot be reached without it. 4- if you play in full screen the game can crash when alt tabbing. This happens more in some areas and actions. Saves are frequent and can be fast, so loss of pr...

Why does it feel like the sequels always get the shaft when it comes to PC ports? Darksiders Warmastered ran like a dream for my whole playthrough. Darksiders II Deathinitive is a very different story. Here's a few bugs I encountered during my completion run: - Gun ammo stopped reloading. My firearm was rendered a paperweight until I quit out and reloaded. - Music and SFX cutting out until I was playing a completely silent game. Fixed with quitting and reloading. - Cutscene with Archon would crash consistenly, blocking my progress to Earth. Turns out, if you would level up after Archon's cutscene, the game would crash every time. I went out to gain a level, came back and I got to progress. WTF. - Game randomly crashing, like in the middle of the final boss fight. Cool. Darksiders has always been kinda mid on the gameplay imo. The characters and story are very creative, and DS2s soundtrack is awesome. Wouldn't recommend completing this one. F that subquest where you collect 70 stones ...

Don't buy this game. This edition of the game is fundamentally broken, crashes when changing settings, sound isn't calibrated, movement bugged during some climbing sequence, i played the original game on PC and Switch, those issues never occured. This game came out almost 10 years ago. This is unacceptable.

This game is a masterpiece, the only negative things i want to mention are some technical bugs which can really suck if the game crashed on you.

I like third person games. I like hack and slash. I like puzzles. I like stories. I like Darksiders II. Though I did not love having to do NG+ to grind to level 30 to do the crucible for all the achievements. But I did not dislike that part enough to avoid playing it ALL on deathinitive difficulty.

The game has an incredible premise and a fantastic protagonist, and that is where the good qualities end. The terrible camera from the first game makes its return, hindering both combat and exploration to a point where you don't want to continue. The story, which started great, devolves into "you need 3 more things to continue" to the point where I actually forgot what the main focus for the game was, until I was reminded near the end, but by the end I stopped caring. The game is filled with bugs that interfere with your ability to progress, and some key features of abilities aren't even explained, which are needed to progress. Overall, a very poorly made game and a bad view into the 2012 era of games that were filled with so much greatness.

I am today years old playing this game first hand and it is really good experience. I believe there are a couple of things to improve but overall it is a nice game to play with ample combat mixed with mild parkout. The main headache (not really) of the main gameplay is the puzzles of the quests. They are not hard but not too easy so you can just have a joyful time learning about the map and the mechanics of the area. I think the UI of quest, gears; fast travel points; skip button; lock system; horse system are the things needed to be improved, not the deal breaker but it would be nice to have once you played over 2 hours. Overall, it is the hidden gem of a game and you should give it a try
