About This Game

The Sunrider series returns in a new fantasy universe! Both new and returning players can embark on this adventure on the high seas. Become a naval captain in the age of sail and command your fleet in tactical turn-based battles.

Tactical Naval Battles

Just because the girls look cute doesn’t mean the battles will be simple! Equip your ships with different weapons like chain shots to maximize their stats. Raise or lower your sails to use the wind to move optimally. And if that isn’t enough, turn the tide of battle by firing the Vanguard Cannon!

Ship Boarding

Yes, you can board enemy ships in this game! Assemble boarding parties for each ship under your command. A powerful enemy ship causing you trouble? Capture it and add it to your fleet! Any enemy ship can be captured – and we mean ANY! Collect loot from enemy ships to add new powerful weapons to your ships. And what’s this? You can loot cooking ingredients to craft bread in Chigara’s Bakery?!

Choose Your Own Adventure

Your actions can change the direction of the story! Discover secret storylines and recruit powerful bonus characters to your party! Even if you complete the game once, your story is not yet over. In New Game+, you can explore alternate story paths, find new recruitable girls, and collect extra powerful loot!

Affection System

The Sunrider 4 Affection System returns! Chat with the girls to gain affection points that unlock powerful new abilities! But it’s not just gameplay bonuses – Sunrider Legends has 14 unique ending scenes, one for each recruitable girl!

Join the girls on the high seas in this tactical turn-based naval RPG!

It's just ridiculous. You expect me to enjoy the game that tells me exact same story in fast paced manner that I already know from previous games, and offers slowest and most boring gameplay in entire series? I don't care at this point. Entire story feels like the characters already familiar with each other and sitting at the round of some tabletop game named "Sunrider Legends Tactics", playing as themselves, trying to act like they don't know each other alongside trying extremely hard to convince the player that he don't know what will happen next. I don't know for whom that game is made. If for those who played series before it's just way too repetitive story-wise since you've heard it all before. If for those who never played Sunrider, it just fails to maintain interest of the player due to fast and short change of events especially if you're not familiar with characters from previous games. Not to mention reused outdated static 2D sprites instead of creating new and fresh lookin...

I had serious trouble writing this review, because I'm a decade long fan of the Sunrider franchise. I mainly bought this game to support the developers, hoping this would be a kind of fun spin-off. But I just couldn't connect with it. Both in terms of gameplay and story. If this was a stand-alone game, with completely different characters, different geographical names, different everything, I probably would have given this game a bigger chance. But playing it now felt incredibly jarring, because it felt as a medieval remake of the first Sundrider and all the names are the same. It just screamed 'wrong' in my head, the entire time I was playing it. The game feels like a fan fiction, or a filler, for the main franchise. There's not nearly enough emphasis on telling a story in a natural flow that would make sense. It just felt like a rapid-fire remake of the first game, that just wanted to rush through the main story points, without exploring them in the depth they required. For exam...

This is a good and refreshing re-make of the Sunrider series, and as an old fan of the series I am very satisfied. To new players: it is recommended to play the previous Sunrider games (Mask of Arcadius, Liberation Day, Captain's Return), so as to get to know the main cast better. They were all by the way great games. Now to rate this new addition to the collection: 1. Narrative: good, somewhat more light-hearted than the previous games (
Kayto's cute sister now lives and is a member of the crew
). Generally on par with Sunrider 1 & 2, though perhaps not as satisfying as Captain's Return. An interesting observation is that the dialogue is, linguistically, somewhat more "old-fashioned" (like in say, Robinson Crusoe?) which fits the overall "Age of Sail" theme. 4/5 2. Gameplay: interesting mechanic that reuses the "vector-based" combat system from Captain's Return. The ability to capture ships is fun. The maritime battle system is such that if you make the correct tactic...

I was having a lot of fun but I've had to restart two missions because of game breaking bugs so far. Game feels buggy and unpolished overall unfortunately. Controls are also really strange. I got used to it but it really doesnt feel good to play. I'd wait for updates to purchase. I'll probably change my review once the bugs are ironed out.

Still difficult but easier then its previous spaceship titles. pretty fun. gets farmable levels, able to steal ships. it got the ship tactics i was looking for just short of the space part. i dont mind this as a test of concept for battle system.

I enjoy the game alot. It has a nice blend of tactical naval battles and story, along with the addition of squad base battles. The Sunrider series is a good time in general and this is yet another fine entry to the series.

A solid spinoff to the sunrider series with unique spin on the turn based genre. Yes this game focus more into combat than vn story telling, so be warn for older fans of the series. In short, it is a retelling of the sunrider stories mixes in with a slightly different version of the sunrider 4 combat system. The story is passable, but the gameplay is the main selling point. You are able to aboard enemies ships and commandeer it, adding it into your fleet. Ship upgrades has been reworked where you use loots from the enemy ships you have seized (not sunk) over buying it to enhance it. Instead you use the money to upgrade your characters stats for boarding party and land combat. Not a huge fan of the changes since the upgrades feels very minimal and the rpg battles is very bare bones compared to navel combat. While I'm not a huge fan of the rpg mechanic, it is a decent addition that I would like to see expanded in their future installments. (Anything over sunrider 4 puzzle) Unlike the...
