The Tiniest Hidden Objects You'll Ever See (Or Not)
Despite the terrible hidden object scenes, I played the game through to the end because I was intrigued by the history of not only the battles, but of the three main characters in the game storyline as well. The character storylines are quite good and very convincing, leading me to believe that these were real people who actually fought in the American Civil War. More on that in a bit. PROS: -Historical information about battles, locations, and generals. Everytime you finish a hidden object "battle", you get a little history lesson about the specific battle and which side won the battle, or whether it was a draw. -Storyline. All three main characters have great storylines. The further you progress in the game, the more information you unlock about them. -Decoding letters. This part of the game is actually fun, way more fun than the hidden object scenes. However, it's just too easy. Some of the code letters look a...

I cannot give this game a good review due to the lack of resolution choices , like none at all . The " Run in windowed mode " is the choice you have . The game screen size is only a fraction of my tv screen .. so being a search and click game I cannot see it to play . What a shame ... was looking forward to this as well . Ahh well ... another one to the uninstalled bin .
Hidden Mysteries: Civil War allows you to follow the fate of three persons during the Civil War that divided USA. What happened to the general? Or to that convinced Confederate soldier? Or to the poor soldier that is more romantic than wanting to fight for his country? Hidden Mysteries: Civil War belongs to the old era of hidden objects games, where you have only scenes to investigate, to find X numbers of this item or find the whole list of it. Some minigames are also included. However, like any game from that time, objects are hard to find because being merged with the background or being very tiny. As you may know, I'm not thumbing down games because they're not adapted to our current days. But here, what a boring game! Mystery P.I. and Mystery Cases Files had at least something that made play for more. Puzzles were more challenging or hidden objects scenes were a little more interesting. Even trying to follow these three people wasn't what I've expected. I hate using hints, but ...
Alright, I am no stranger to Mystery P.I. games... Which is what this reminds me of... BUT... I can't freaking see anything! Even on the Full Screen everything is so... So TINY! WAH! And the lag... I am patient... But man... I don't know how to find majority of the items if they are smaller than an atom. EH!
Neat little game, fun and educational. Didn't take long to complete, was mostly easy although there were a few items which seemed impossible to find without using a hint. Each level takes you through a battle that actually happened during the civil war. I recommend if you're looking for a short but fun hidden object game!
"Hidden Mysteries: Civil War" is a short little hidden object game. While I do overall give a thumbs up for this game, I do feel some of the historical things should be tweaked. (But in my opinion our very own history books need A LOT more tweaking than this game.) I found the puzzles challenging, but not frustrating by any means. Visually the pictures are pleasing to interact with, as well. I played it more for the puzzles than the history that went with it. (I went in aware that I would probably not be getting any sort of a history lesson...The game would have had to go WAY more in depth to add to my knowledge, let alone my boyfriend's extensive knowledge. lol) If you like hidden object puzzles, then I recommend picking up this quick little game to pass the time.
What started as a strange mix of history and fictional elements became a Mandela Effect detour into an alternate timeline. And I am not sure if the narrative was supposed to truly represent the alternate history within the investigator's timeline, or illustrate the dangers of trying to assemble an understanding of history by finding random pieces of trash, bugs, and household sundries while trespassing at small Civil War museums. As much as teachers may warn you not to learn history from Wikipedia, there is a much worse source certainly. There is also a strange morality/immorality narrative being uncovered during the investigation which culminates in an act of happenstance plunder that should raise an eyebrow. So, if you are considering buying this because you think it will give you faithful history and true stories of people from the Civil War – do not buy. If you would like to mildly challenge your grip on reality and ability to find hidden objects, $5 seems a reasonable post-C...
