I have been playing online chess seriously for about a year (tried different softwares/websites). This game has a lot of potential. However, it does compete against websites like chess.com which have been around for a long time and have perfected themselves with time. But people like me will join this community thinking that it would be great to play fellow gamers in chess which is an unsual thing in Steam! I Here is what I think should be done as a matter of priority: - We should be able to search for players (per location or else) - To refuse an invitation to play - To resign - The game should prompt you to confirm your move when done - Chat rooms would be perfect (by theme or else), where people could interact with each other and perhaps have a chat before the game. This would be a massive advantage compared to other games in the market. - There should be a time limit to your turn. At the moment if you play the day after your opponent plays or a month later there is no penalty. You...

This is probably the worst game on Steam I've ever purchased. There is no timer, so your opponent moves when they're good & ready, which is usually once a week..maybe. Harldly anyone in the lobby to play. The graphics are lousy -- looks like a 5-year-old created them. I guess they're still making improvements, but it looks like something you wouldn't think twice on passing up if you found it for free online. Finally, to make matters worse, I can't find a way to turn it off -- it just sits on your screen you need ctrl+alt+del it. Pure monkey poop.
Worst piece of crap chess-game I've ever laid my hands on. I've laid hands on a lot.--
No timed chess. Unintuitive interface. Adds a space to the end of the default randomized password it gives you (seriously).
What is wrong with the "Not Recommended" reviewers? The value of this game is that you can challenge any of the members or receive challemges from them. It is not compulsory to accept a challenge in just the same way as at a Chess Club. If your opponent does not respond to your first move then the game is dead and counted as invalid. If a player fails to respond within the three day limit then he loses. To shorten the three day limit could well mean that some players with heavy demands on their time woukl not compete and we should all be worse off. I think this game set-up is ideal and I recommend it to all chess players!!
Literally a dead game now. Can't find anyway to actually play it. The site you access to play the game won't load. GG devs.

Hey everyone, <edit> I change the rating - because of two things which really brother me. 1. If you get a pawn throught it becomes automatically a queen. But sometimes this could lead to a stalemate. 2. There is still no clock. As well the community is still small and the game doesn't do enough imo to seperate itself from other chess games. </edit> in my opinion chess is a great game, I've been playing it for many years, in real life as well. If you are interested in chess in general check out my guide: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=490990568 About "Ancients of Fasaria: Chess Club": + good support + nice style + well organised menu + easy way to challenge players + easy profile set up, with basic information (maybe the option to write a sentence should be added) Some things which should be added for sure: - time option (now with time-out after 7 days = lost) - no easy chat option (only after move or in lobbies) - the option to select people who are allowed ...
