It started off pretty well, but as soon as i got on the map interface and tried to travel from Arroyo's village to another location, the cursor started to freeze and everything stopped working despite the fact that I have a high-end PC. How can this puny 541MB game freeze and crash on my computer ? well i don't have a clue Still this isn't the first time I've had to refund a game I bought on Steam or look for an unofficial patch. It might be the last time I bother. If you want to play this game, which to be fair, could definitely be worth your while; you might want to consider downloading it elsewhere. i just state that as a warning, if it happened to me despite my computer, the likelihood of it happening to you is pretty high i would say... (you can also download an external patch, works too)
Named myself Francis, gave myself intelligence -1 and soft locked myself in under two hours. Great game.
Unplayable due to constant stutters
Taking place in 2241, 79 years after Fallout 1 and 164 years after The Great War, the story of Fallout 2: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game revolves around the Chosen One, the grandchild of the protagonist from the first game, who is on a search for the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (G.E.C.K.) in order to save their village. This epic odyssey will take you to some of the most intriguing landscapes this side of the wasteland has to offer, all the while encountering fearsome factions like the Hubologists, the New California Republic (NCR) and the Enclave. This and Fallout 4 are, in my opinion, the greatest games in the franchise. This game took all of the things the first game did right, expanded them and then created some of the most unique areas, perks, characters and items in the series. On top of that, the game is absolutely bursting with content. While the main game can be beaten in 45 hours, completing the side quests will take about twice along! And that isn't even counting things ...
THIS GAME GETS YOU MAD HOES FRFR
I played this game when it was first released and loved it. AUG 2025 just started replaying - Classic version - for old times sake. LOVING IT AGAIN. Working well no bugs yet. Edit: Very strange the game seems to have forgotten me. I finished the game twice back in the day and tried out dozens of character builds for awhile I should have Hundreds of Hours ???
Its a CLASSIC... they don't make Fallouts like this anymore.. PURE GOLD
great
I think it's one of the best RPG's of all time. The writing makes me laugh, and it's great to see where the series went after this. I recommend the Restoration patch to go along with it these days. This game is really special to me. I'll play it until I die
