I would love to play this game and beat the boss but the key binds are so bad and can't be changed, that I gave it up. please patch this game with rebindable keys for keyboard.

It feels like Cuphead in its earlier development stage and I love it. I hope they add updates for polish and full custom control mapping! I recommend it for scratching that Cuphead itch. So much fun and I cant say it enough. BUY THIS GAME!
Animation is well done for a solo developer project but it's super short with only one boss. The game was recently updated to have two different control setups but rebinding isn't available. I'm a little more on the fence because of the length so YMMV if $3 is worth that. Still not a bad first project that hopefully leads to more neat stuff to show.
It's a bit rudimentary, and the dev's first game, but it's a really good time and I think the developer deserves the money for the effort they put into it. It's a bit rough around the edges but there isn't a single part that's actually poorly designed, I think. The animation is SERIOUSLY impressive and I think this dev would have a place on studio MDHR. It does have some issues, though, with how some moves have lag and that there isn't much agency given to the player in the controls (to be fair it's really hard to make input rebinding in a game.)
This is not exactly like Cuphead and that's ok! First, a few gripes: Fodder feels really floaty and sorta awkward to control. Your momentum persists when you press a direction while jumping and that is a BIG no-no for precise inputs and movement. In Cuphead, Cuphead jumps into a ball when jumping, for a cool animation, but also because your hitbox size is reduced, making attacks in the air easier to dodge. Fodder keeps the same size hitbox when jumping, which makes jumping undesirable and a bad option most of the time. (You don't even need to jump in the last phase!) But, thats all I have to say to complain. This being made by one developer is simply astounding, the animation is fantastic, and for the music and gameplay to all be done by one guy, it's impeccable on what he was able to accomplish! Dev, if you're reading this, all I want you to do is to evaluate my critiques and make your next project even better than this masterpiece. I got the gold rank, and can say that I am exc...
not bad, but you cant bind controls, for some reason Fodder keeps moving when you jump and walk a bit, i found a bug that didnt let me jump, i hope these things get fixed and get more content cuz only 1 fight is kinda meh, maybe hire more rubberhose animators and coders with the money this game makes
the best fckin shi i've ever played
Toyland Tussle is a game that wears its inspiration on its sleeve, and I would say it should be proud of this fact, since, in my opinion, it’s - while really short - the best Cuphead-like game at the moment. The animations look really nice and are by far the closest in terms of quality to Cuphead. The attack patterns of the enemies aren’t too dissimilar from what we’ve already seen, but the most important aspect is that they feel fair. The music in the game is nothing to sing praises about, but it does the job of accompanying the visuals quite well and doesn’t feel annoying. One aspect I’m not keen on is the gamepad controls, which needed some adjusting on my part - and may need some on the developer’s part - since the bindings felt a tad unnatural. All in all, it’s a sweet, short experience that’s definitely worth its low price for what it offers.
This game is super hard but super fun! It's definitely is for fans of Cuphead. I still have yet to beat the first level but I am having lots of fun regardless.
I've been looking for a cuphead-type game for such a long time, and this game honestly does such a great job of emulating the cuphead feel! My only honest complaint is that I wish there was more bosses to fight! I'm also astounded that this was made all by one person, genuinely such a great game for an insanely low price!
