Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition

I didn't realize I hadn't written a review for this game when I put it down which really goes to show just how badly I wanted to be done with it. Riptide takes everything the first game did right and buries it, then they take everything the first did wrong and makes that the focal point and gameplay loop. Luckily I've managed to put the specific details out of my mind by now, but what I do remember is that the complete lack of plot and mind numbingly boring gameplay loop caused me to derive precisely zero enjoyment from this experience. I don't even think playing this with a friend could possibly make this a remotely enjoyable game.

Takes everything you like about the original, and throws in some boat missions that are unnecessarily annoying. This is an excellent if you catch it on sale. There's some glitches and bugs that drag it down. Would I pay full price? With money? Probably not. But if it's on sale then pick it up. There's a worse games out there.

Played and finished this when it originally released. Felt like dead island 1 just with shitty boats instead of cars. Still feels the same now. Worth playing if you want to see the continuation of the story and can endure some boring sections. Wouldn't pay more than 10 bucks for it though.

6/10 Worth a playthrough, but it's just a bit junky and old so be weary.
