About This Game

Chess, but without the bureaucratic back-and-forth of actually taking your turns. There's no time to waste in this hectic re-imagining of your favorite checkered strategy game. Blink once, and it's Checkmate!

Every time you move a piece, you lose some mana- But every second, you gain some mana. Save it up to launch a 4-pronged assault, or move one piece at a time to keep your enemy on their toes! Both players move simultaneously, so quick-witted maneuvers are just as important as long-term strategy!

A single match can last anywhere between 10 seconds and 10 minutes. Hyper Chess features over a dozen unique Chess Sets to collect, several unique game modes to spice up the fun, and local/online multiplayer.

Hyper chess is by far the best "chess but different" ever made. 5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel is a fun game, but a lot of the enjoyment just comes from the absurdity of the concept and it's hard to ever truly grasp the idea of getting checkmates from five parallel universes away. Hyper Chess, on the other hand, is simple, intuitive, and completely changes how you look at the game without significantly changing any of the rules. En passant and castling are gone, and you win by actually capturing the king (since being in check doesn't really exist when the king is capable of dodging). The strategy of the game changes completely in a fresh and novel way when players are able to make multiple rules at once or in a row, but the fundamentals of how pieces threaten each other isn't changed at all and boards often end up in similar states to what you'd see in a regular game - just with the occasional rook or bishop carving out multiple enemy pieces in one movement or a queen bowling ov...

It's super fun to see the concept of "What if you didn't take turns in chess" being turned into a mechanically well-rounded and satisfying experience! It's a very fun and exciting game that I'll gladly recommend, but I hope a few things get added still, such as a tutorial to introduce some of the unique mechanics, and each player being represented by their chosen chess set in online mode. A vs PC option would also be great, as currently it requires you to either have a friend to play with (I have those), or to find an open lobby made by a stranger, (I personally haven't found much luck with this.) Also, the chess girl is very cute. I'd like it if she and her friend had talking animations in the lobby when you said stuff in the chat. And maybe did yuri. Thank you.

Fun and goofy take on chess, very cool retro artstyle. The move limit mechanic takes what could be a mess and makes it a chaotic strategy game. Very good time! Will be added to my friends and I rotation of silly multiplayer games. Suggestions: Anime chess girl ( Pon ) needs more screen-time, make her sit on a chair and referee/react to the game. Could be cool to have board colors also being cosmetics. Space background, solid colors, fire/ice, etc. Maybe even have colors for Pon? More lobby settings. Set custom Move limit max/mins, regen time, starting locations. Some kind of point buy piece setup mode. Having in game leaderboards/MMR would make it proper competitive.

Surprisingly fun. Possibly the best ever variant of chess. I wish there were more people to play it with, so spend $3 please.

Not convinced by this game even at the low price tag : - no solo play, only PvP - mouse control is horribly sluggish - nearly zero config options - general lack of polish

I am having a jolly good time with this game. you can't go wrong with the 3 buck entry price, they are way underselling what they have.
