the game is so random there is no way to improve or build on what you learn. Either you find what you need or you don't and mostly you don't. I like a good rogue or rogue like game but this is just too random. Nice concept but unplayable for very long. Big disappoinment

World War III was one cruel tragedy, at least for the others. You seemed to have a quite nice time, hidden in your fancy penthouse at the Skyhill Hotel... Till the impact of a bio-weapon blew away the life you once knew.
Now there are mutants everywhere, and they're eager to rip you to shreds with their vicious claws. But they aren't your only problem: Your supplies are running out. You have to leave your luxurious penthouse and search for food. Walking through the skyscraper means going through hell. There is danger around every corner and death is a steady companion. Every floor feels like a gamble — do you push on and risk running out of supplies, or turn back and waste precious time? The tension never really leaves, even in quiet moments, because you know danger could be waiting behind the next door. The mix of survival, exploration, and sheer luck makes every run its own story, and even when you fail, you can’t resist diving back in to see if this time, you’ll make it to the bottom.
Bought this a few years ago. At the time it was unlike anything I'd played, but still, it seemed to have an interesting premise. Survive. Yeah, I learned that wasn't as easy as it seemed. I only played about 2 hours on it, and walked away. That was 2019 I think. Skip forward, I was looking for something new to fill the time..... and returned to this. I'm now over 20 hours into it, and seriously liking what it takes to survive in this. It's brutual, it doesn't hold your hand, and it makes you honestly consider: Can I beat this monster with only a pipe???? The passive and active game bonuses make for some fun play throughs. I beat it once..... and that was a super satisfying achievement..... but it only pushed me to try different ways to see if I can make it to the first floor. It's never the same game twice. And though it can be frustrating (I was just now killed on the 37th floor with one of the top weapons in my inventory..... I needed 28 speed to use it, and I was ...
Quite a unique game. Hard AF. If it looks appealing to you, and you're down for a challenge, this game is for you. No regrets here.

This review is about native Steam Deck settings since the game lists as Playable. Skyhill is technically playable on Steam Deck but with issues if you dont adjust many Steam settings first. The mouse cursor moves too fast, right trigger is the confirmation button, and most things including menus require touch screen as a result. Playable on Steam but unpleasant interface.
