The Door You Can Never Open is a horror walking simulator that takes place mostly inside a small house. There is one other location but I do not want to spoil it for you. The game took just over 30 minutes to complete, and then another 5 minutes to load up the last save and see the additional 2nd ending. + The story is mysterious, holds your interest, and gets explained well at the end of the game. + There are approximately 3 puzzles in this game, various takes on puzzles we have seen before, but somewhat original in use. No guide needed. + The atmosphere is spot on, the sounds effects work very well, and the graphical filter used was effective. - The game is very short. - A few very minor translation issues. - "Based on a true story", huh? A fun micro budget, short, horror game. A game where you can watch a dog pooping is always a win. Worth the low asking price tag of $2.00 for those seeking the above. Overall: 6/10

Super short. Took me about 30 minutes my first run and 20 my second, the 2nd being quite superfluous as the choices you make in the game actually don't influence anything until the very last choice, and thankfully the game has a check point just before it so you can see both endings. The game starts super strong with the opening title shot. Then you're introduced to your father and the taking care of them. Unfortunately the needle mini game seem busted. I could not for the life of me hit it. Luckily, it doesn't penalize you for missing, and eventually through mashing rapidly I managed it. Then the game has you do some chores with a little tension. The next day things escalate, and it's all going really good until you suddenly are transported to Hell. Hell is where actual game play mechanics are introduced, after being forced to walk through the home, you can finally run. And there is something to run from, but it's pretty easy to outpace and dispatch. Then there's a platforming s...

This indie horror game really surprised me! The story has a lot of potential and feels like it could easily be expanded into a longer experience. Some areas and especially the monster feel authentic and unique, which makes the atmosphere very immersive. For the price, it’s a great short horror experience that delivers good scares and tension
