To start things off, the release version of this collection had two major issues that were turning people away, the first of which being game saves in GV1 causing the collection to not load up properly, and the second of which being a lack of cloud saves. Both of these issues were fixed shortly after release via update patches. Reviews still complaining about these two specific issues are therefore outdated. There's another reported issue that has been fixed in the August 7th patch in which the normal final boss in GV2 was unbeatable on Steam Deck due to a game crash. There's also the matter of many of GV1's extra game modes from the previous Steam release not appearing in this version. So far this has not been addressed to my knowledge, but I'll update this review if anything changes. At first glance it seems odd that they are selling this as a separate collection instead of just updating the old versions of the games, especially since they could preserve legacy versions via the Ste...

Here's your TL;DR before I really get into this. "is this collection worth it?" Well that depends, if you already own any of the standalone versions of these games (or the Striker Pack on console) then I'm gonna say "no" unless you REALLY, and I mean REALLY want to be able to skip the loading screens because that's honestly the biggest quality of life this collection offers imo. Now if you DON'T own any of these games and are looking into getting into this series for the first time, then ABSOLUTELY get this collection, ESPECIALLY if it's on sale. Sure, it had a pretty rough launch on steam, especially on day one. But those issues have all since been fixed. That said, here are my thoughts on this thing as a whole, now overall I like this collection but I am going to be critical of it where I feel it's deserved because quite frankly, they could/should have done MUCH MORE if they wanted to call this an "Enhanced Trilogy". - Adding officially translated audio dramas is one of my favori...
Just from initial impression, its MIGHTY underwhelming Choosing a game has it close the Trilogy's application, just to boot your chosen game separately, vice-versa if you're returning to the Title Screen; its super jarring and gives a low-budget feel to the whole package And since they are all .exes disconnected to one another, Options like Language settings are also all individual, even when there's no reason to have it that way at all Lastly and perhaps the only gripe I can sorta understand; GV1 and GV2 are still in their handheld pixel count, I understand it'd be very hard to bring them up to the standards of GV3 graphically, but considering how they were supposedly remade for the current engine and they are supposed to be ENHANCED, I repeat it gives a very low-budget vibe EDIT: GV1 still refuses to let you take on more than 3 Challenges at once, which maybe back then was for game limitations, now its just padding Considering the game are supposedly accurate to the originals, I ...
soild collection has 1 small issue... no new lola/roro content... 0/10
This is really the definitive way to play the main Gunvolt series now.
good stuff
If you like the Mega Man X series; you'll probably love this series. Runs well on Steam Deck as well.
Pretty good collection I suppose Tho I did get it at 50% launch discount
