Game is 100%'d at time of this review.
8.5/10 Amazing game, banger of a soundtrack. Very fun, and also very difficult (Played on Nightmare difficulty). I had a few times where the game crashed, or the game bugged so an area wouldn't unlock due to "being in combat still", so I would have to die and redo the area to continue. Not much to say about Arcade Mode, was pretty easy. The multiplayer is actually somewhat active on the NA servers, so I got most of my achievements/xp through that. Got a bit of xp through boosting on sector mode into overtime just capping the sectors. The multiplayer was fun at times, encountered a few cheaters other times. Not a fan of some of the maps or modes, but more than anything it felt like a lot to be done. I spent more time in the multiplayer than the full playthrough of the game + arcade mode achievements. The bugs and crashing, multiplayer and the length of that grind are the main reasons this doesn't have a 10/10 rating.

Not even in Hell can the demons escape the wrath of the Doomslayer. He is as ruthless as the game, and I love it. The first thing to notice, other than its blood-soaked and gory nature, is that it plays just like the old-school arcade shooters, a similar style to the original Doom, but with today's graphics. The implementation is just astonishing, and it's nice to know that Id Software still puts the same passion in the Doom series. Nostalgia will hit those who played the 1993 classic like a truck. Doom may fall short on story, but the pacing is well-made and the campaign is pretty long compared to the other titles, giving a good 11-12 hours total. Blasting demons never gets old, especially not with the new glory kills. And even though there are very few bosses, the battles with them are epic, lengthy, and challenging. They may not be as daunting as Souls bosses, but you can at least expect a difficulty similar to bosses from the God of War series. So what about multiplayer? It is a...
Let me preface this: I bought this as an experienced gamer but a total noob to FPS. Well, this is everything a game should be. Incredibly satisfying, iconic, extremely well-balanced pacing and difficulty ramping for new players (on the default difficulty). The Doom Anthology is on massive sale right now, and it's a steal. But just the 2016 game is definitely worth the $20. Can't wait to try out Eternal!
A well-made game with great music and smooth combat, but the constant run-and-gun loop and lack of a deep narrative just aren’t my taste. Fans of pure action will love it. I didn’t.
This game is a fantastic follow-up, delivering everything fans could hope for—and then some. Familiar monsters and weapons make a return, adding a great sense of nostalgia. The levels are massive and beautifully designed, yet never feel overwhelming thanks to clever use of green lights that guide you in the right direction. The levels are non-linear, packed with opportunities for exploration, hidden weapons, secret areas, and even unlockable retro levels. It’s a significant improvement over the maze-like layouts of Doom 2 (1994), which left players wandering in circles looking for a single switch. The soundtrack is as intense as ever and fits the game perfectly. Combat is incredibly satisfying, with the brutal Glory Kills being a welcome addition. The chainsaw remains an absolute favorite—pure chaos in the best way, and it provides plenty of ammo. One downside is a bugged achievement that forces you to replay the game to unlock it. While replaying is hardly a punishment given...
OMG only brainless people likes this kind of game. So boring lmao. Why did i bought this game? T_T 3/10.
Rip N Tear until both of your eyes starts watering because of how much sh1t is going on. as much fun as this game is, the bosses are such a letdown.. it's boring, not fun, not engaging at all, and it feels like an unnecessary things to fight in this game. i would rather fight 100 of hordes instead of the bosses to be honest.
DOOM is a great game with some frustrating elements. The production is of very high quality. Great visuals and animations. The music fits the game very well too. Smooth/fast movement, shooting feels good and is satisfying (visuals, sound effects). The weapons are for the most part very fun to use except for some of them. The progression system is also pretty good. Not super complicated, but you don't need complicated - you just need something good. Easy to play for 1h in a row if you're in the mood to shoot some demons. Action-packed game that is very enjoyable overall. Without a doubt better than most FPS single player games. Now, for the negative elements. 1- Some of the guns suck. The pistol is probably the best example and the game makes you use that terrible weapon for too long at the start of the game. It made me think the gameplay was much worse than the visuals. Good thing I kept playing. 2- The checkpoint system can be frustrating and is sometimes downright bad. Sometimes,...
DOOM 2016 is an 8 out of 10 in my book. When I first played the 2016 game back on my PS4/XBOX ONE Consoles I was hooked on the lore of the Doom Slayer AKA Doomguy, I wanted to know more on the overall DOOM lore itself reading through testaments/info on each of the Demons, Characters, & the Universe of DOOM. Boss fights & variety of Demon enemies are memorable as they are completely reimagined in 2016. More than thrilled replaying & 100% this game again this time on my Steam Deck OLED, on Ultra-Violence & Nightmare mode. DOOM 2016 may not be for everyone as I know a few friends that think it's repetitive & just loud noises & that's fair, but as someone like me who loves the Dead Space video games to death, I saw DOOM 2016 as the opposite of Dead Space where YOU are the horror & the DEMONS are the victims as you're Ripping & Tearing your way through them as the unstoppable Slayer that the testaments/audio logs in the game stated you to be. For me, this is perhaps the most unexpected fir...
It's a classic for a reason, and gawd dang do I love coming back to it ever few years.
