About This Game

'Escape House' is a short (around 30 minutes), walking simulator game wherein the player is paid to partake in an experimental, real-world video game which is currently in development and not yet accessible to the public. Will you partake, and at what cost?

Mechanically, the game offers little in the way of game play. But what it lacks in that department, it more than makes up for in atmosphere and tone. Be that through its use of music, narration or (perhaps most predominantly) the many twists and turns within its story. All of which make 'Escape House' a game worth sharing with friends. If for no other reason than to witness their reaction.

I love it was great to stream! my only complaint is that we cant derail the story to get more endings i am aware that this game is cheap but in the potential DLC we could have more endings? that would be great

Escape House feels like what would happen if The Stanley Parable snuck into a cheese factory after hours, got lost in the vats, and decided to narrate its own descent into experimental absurdism. The gameplay is less about pushing buttons (except one) and more about being pushed gently through a strangely hypnotic world where atmosphere does the heavy lifting, like an ambient OfficialLiveWire album disguised as a walking simulator. There’s a sly humour tucked into the walls sometimes wardrobes and the dark undertones is one of those oddly specific touches that turns a surreal stroll into something you’ll remember far longer than the runtime suggests. It’s short, weird, and maybe even self aware enough to wink at you. But that’s exactly why it works, it’s not trying to be a blockbuster, just a clever riff on interactivity and tone, a little pocket sized experiment that will lead to greater games yet to come. Very charming game, with a fun narrative and straightforward gameplay. The kind of thing anyone and everyone can pick up and play. Really great to see independent and experimental projects out here in the store. Always feels good to give support where possible. Excited to see what you bring out next!
