A hollow shell with vapid writing. There's a better game somewhere in here, but this isn't it. Still, it's a Bethesda sandbox, so there's plenty to do.

thanking devs for updating the game recently and breaking everything.... every mod, every quest... more floor clipping. more spaghetti men all over... truely..... retire. and stop ruining games.... thanks
It's still worth playing until The Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5 comes out.
Played the game for a while. Suddenly, new spoon sized content costs money, but oh wait, you get an update and all the little spoon sized bites of content cannot be used, why? Bethesda doesn't bother to make THEIR add-ons COMPATIBLE with the damned game.
meh, better off playing any of the other ones for a better RPG experience.
“War.... War never changes" but in the case of Fallout 4? It changed me. So I do indeed reccomend this game. Greetings wastelanders of the Commonwealth. I'm relatively new to these reviews in general, and why not start with Fallout 4. Fallout 4 isn't just a game, it's a game that changed my life. Let me be clear this up isn’t just a game. It’s a post-apocalyptic love letter to exploration, survival, and storytelling, all wrapped in the irradiated ruins dripping with radiation of my favourite American city: Boston, Massachusetts. And yes, that connection runs deep. Boston is the hometown of someone very special to me, and she helped me through a lot as I did the same for her. Sure Fallout 4 has its flaws like most games. I know this game has its flaws. But if you can overlook past a few bugs, an occasionally stiff animation, and a dialogue wheel that sometimes feels like it graduated from the Todd Howard School of Vagueness what you get is an enjoyable experience. From the s...
if you want a chintzy action game get fallout 4, if you want a fallout game get fallout new vegas
lame building game, story sucked, just play fo1, 2, 3 and nv. they're way better and reflect what this series was about
I enjoyed this game a lot as a kid, but now coming back to it, it's so sloppy and mediocre. It has awful dialogue options and a dull story line and the world building takes the completely wrong lessons on what a Fallout is. The gameplay is alright but despite Fallout 76's shortcomings in many areas, it does have a better dialogue system (which is the same as Fallout New Vegas, a game made in 2010) and honestly I can't go back to fallout 4 because of how much of a downgrade it is. It's also just so goofy and cheesy and basic that it just doesn't feel like an apocalypse. It's not supposed to be a 1940's/50's apocalypse, its supposed to be a satirical picture of how the 1950's would imagine a nuclear apocalypse of the future, in this case 2077 onward to the 2100's and 2200's. I must have been stupid as a kid or smth. Don't bother with this game, mod and play the older ones.
Glorified junk-hoarding bethesda base-builder. Decent shooter but below-average RPG. If you are not annoyed by typical bethesda radiant quests, loading screens etc., maybe there is some fun to be had. Game wants me to hate the Brotherhood of Steel and sympathize with the Institute. Not Gonna Happen. Ad Victoriam !!
