About This Game

Mine rocks!

Keep on Mining! is a simple incremental game. Hover your cursor over rocks to automatically mine them. Any rock inside the mining area will spawn pickaxes that mine for you!

Gather materials!

Mined rocks drop ores, which are crafted into bars. There is a variety of different material rocks to be mined!

The skill tree!

Spend your material bars to unlock upgrades inside the skill tree. These upgrades permanently boost your stats, letting you mine rocks with more power!

Craft pickaxes!

Use different materials to craft new pickaxes. Each new pickaxe has better stats, helping you mine faster and hit harder!

Talent cards!

Every time you level up, you earn a talent point. Spend talent points to reveal 3 random talent cards — pick one to keep! Choosing a card increases the talent level, but also increases rock HP.

The Mine!

Once you unlock the mine, it will automatically mine rocks and instantly craft bars for you. The Mine is the idle mechanic of Keep on Mining!

A decent time waster but nothing more. There's no builds that change the way you play, there's no strategy. You spin your mouse in a circle for 30 seconds then buy upgrades and repeat. Every upgrade makes you do the same thing, there's no variation in the 3 hours of gameplay this game provides.

Keep on Mining! is a fun addictive clicker game where you hover your mouse over a game board and mine ores. As you play and level up, you unlock all sorts of benefits, the unlocking system is a massive mine in itself. The goal of the game is to eventually craft the Diamond Pickaxe. I personally 100% the game in 4.5 hours. + Despite being a clicker type game, you don't have to click at all. You just have to hover your cursor over the area you want to mine and the game reaps the rewards for you. This is much easier on the wrists. + The unlocking tree system is enjoyable, lots of branches and different things to unlock. + Despite a million things happening on screen near the end of the game I experienced zero slowdown. + The game can be run on a potato. - The game is very repetitive. Solid clicker game to pass the time and relax. Overall: 8/10

This is a very much a 'Mixed' rather than fully negative review. While the game is satisfying for... let's say 2/3 of its runtime after which it turns overly grindy, but the core loop isn't bad, it feels an awful lot like a first draft being sold as a finished product. And while $5 isn't exactly a huge asking price, there are much better games you can find in this genre for that price or less. Some very specific critiques: -On the upgrade tree, it's not easy to tell at a glance what's available. The little green plus symbol doesn't grab the eye when many of the icons have little green up arrows or similar by default. A different border color around the icon might help. -Also on visual clarity, there's an upgrade that gives a 3% chance to 5X your income after a run, but there's basically no indication it's triggered other than some text on the edge of the screen being different. This desperately needs something to let players know they basically just got a jackpot. I'm pretty sure I cl...

Game is fun at the start, kinda trying to beat the clock. But after awhile it becomes a chore.

Keep on Mining! is a great incremental game. I wouldn't call it a clicker, as you hover over the mouse, and not really an idle game, as active playing kinda is required, but a lot of fun. This is a nice game mechanic, but it's not a game. None of the decisions you make feel meaningful. It needs a few more layers before I'd recommend it to anybody else. I'd suggest the developer lean into either an idle or rogue like mechanic (or both) if they want to make a worthwhile game. A rogue like mechanic would be great, because then you could make the level up perks far more interesting and let players chase the perfect combination.

My review would be more mixed than positive in terms of value for the cost but I can't deny that it's a fun one/two day time waster. For $5, you can certainly do worse. If you actively play the game, you can get 100% achievements/beat the game in about 3-4 hours. There is a 'post-game' for true 100% completion but it is so excessively grindy that it is not worth it. I can see the potential for speedruns since the game is short enough and the randomization of talents.

Just a chill incremental game with end. I think 5e for 3 hours is too overpriced. But the progress is fast, in the end a little grind, but not too much

Fun and dumbly designed game. Bit boring and grind-y fun at first 60 minutes. But after then, I met "crappy upgrade wall" which makes me feel the progress has stopped. And after I met "crappy upgrade wall", I upgraded talent for the first time(I didn't do it before because I heard they are bad.) and my resource gain become 60-70%. Because performance of the talent is terribly bad while the talent point has stupid penalty that increases rock's hp. Most upgrades are bad. Only some of the upgrades are actually great, most of them are exist just to hide useful upgrades. Number increasing of most upgrades is strongly restrained. Because there's no system like hp based resource rewards. That's one of the reason why upgrades are not satisfying. Pointless randomness with no apparent reasons here and there. They are not fun at all. Not a good game as Nodebuster or Forager or Gnorp Apologue. These three games also have defections but I managed to reach end unlike this one.
