About This Game

Update: now includes the official soundtrack

Program little office workers to solve puzzles. Be a good employee! The machines are coming... for your job.

Human Resource Machine is a puzzle game for nerds. In each level, your boss gives you a job. Automate it by programming your little office worker. If you succeed, you'll be promoted up to the next level for another year of work in the vast office building. Congratulations!

Don't worry if you've never programmed before - programming is just puzzle solving. If you strip away all the 1's and 0's and scary squiggly brackets, programming is actually really simple, logical, beautiful, and something that anyone can understand and have fun with! Are you already an expert? There will be extra challenges for you.

From the creators of World of Goo and Little Inferno. Have fun! Management is watching.

This is a very great puzzle and thinking game where you code assembly. It gets pretty hard, ESPECIALLY if you want to do the optimisation challenges! Would recommend! Unless you have issues like me, but that is not the games fault. That is the fault of me being born. Made me quit being a programmer and aware of how much of a pathetic failure i really am at (optimised) coding and at being alive in general.

Human Resource Machine is clever little game that teaches you the fundamentals of programming in a fun and simple way. Just like real programming, it can get pretty frustrating, but once you manage to find a solution that works it's extremely satisfying. Plus there's a cool, creepy little story going on behind it all as well.

It's missing a lot of QOL features and as a result some of the longer programs can be tedious and hard to keep track of. Just like programming in actual assembly, well done.

I fully recommend this game for any one who wants to learn how to code as prior to this game I was struggling to fined any method to develop the necessary thought process to start coding as a beginner. This game is also well made and enjoyable as a puzzle game.
11 / 10!
It's basically a visual asssembly editor. The challenges are actually challenging. Some levels took me a few hours to optimize, most of them took 2 to 10 minutes though. Being a programmer but never having any assembly experience or even real intend to learn it, it was so much fun to get into something totally new and understand some underlying mechanics of high level programming languages. I can't really imagine any better way to teach the basics of assembly. It's such a fun and engaging way! If you are a nerd and love logic challenges, just go for it!

easy enough so you can do all levels without spending too much time (outside the optimization challenges) and it's a game I'd recommend to someone learning programming!

Great game! I've used it to teach assembly to students in class. The controls are very intuitive and the puzzles are fun. There is also a lot of replay value by trying to get all optimisation challenges.
