Story

What happens in a world where the last evil lies dead, the last quest is completed, and the last chest has been opened?

In this world, the long-dead Heroes of Old are forever remembered and honored through a great magical device. This device, known only as the Chronicon, is capable of opening a portal into the memories – the very souls – of the Heroes of Old. Each year, a handful men and women are given the great honor to re-live the old tales.
And this year, you have been chosen…

Note: Trailer footage and screenshots are of high level characters with decent equipment. Expect a slower pace at first.

Very much Diablo II Lite, without the Online Multiplayer, basically no story, and more pixeled graphics. It's a pretty good game for a small team or one guy, but the Very Positive reviews feel a bit overhyped for what this game does. There's a lot of options with builds, masteries, and end game difficulties, but the end game is really just endless loot grind with random dungeons that feels a bit pointless. The end of the campaign is super anti-climactic, and the end boss dies in 7 seconds on Epic difficulty.

Very enjoyable ARPG in the vein of Diablo 3. Not super deep (at least not in the early post-game), but enough variety to tune your character for a lot of unique builds. I think it's definitely worth the price tag.

It's a fun little game but its strengths lie in mechanics not the story or art. While art is serviceable, story is just there to keep you moving. Not an inherently bad thing but it could have used some love as the rest of the parts. That said, mechanisms in this game are very well done. There are plenty of synergies and different play styles. I didn't finish the game yet and I can see people complaining about endgame being too much of a grind. Personally, even if that is the case, I don't care. For the price I already had plenty of fun. More than thirty hours of fun for less than a night in the cinema or lunch at McD. Asking for more than that is really expecting too much. Especially if you get the game on sale.

Havent played in a long time but this game is one of very few good ARPGs ever made. And I love the genre.

Campaign was fun, the progression is smooth and there is some nice and accessible crafting systems, with way more in the endgame. There was great potential BUT unfortunately I hated the endgame gameplay. Basically most of the game modes require you to clear some mobs in a map to create a portal and move forward. The problem is that you often need to backtrack like crazy to fill the quota, and boy it doesn't feel good. Clearing 80% of the map but having to go in that annoying corner on the opposite side to get the extra kills is a pain. So even if scaling is great and crafting is definitely interesting, I am not giving time to a game with such a boring mapping.

This game is a literal cognitohazard. It's simply too fun, too addictive, too diverse and deep. Probably the best single player ARPG out there. If you have a job or family, avoid.
