This game is an extremely well-polished Metroidvania that takes some of the best elements of Zelda II and Castlevania II; if you are a fan of either game, this should be in your collection. Even if you are not, this game is highly replayable and seems to always throw new content at you, and it's not just filler: it seems like every time you beat the game, they give you a brand new way to do it. I will eventually get bored of this game, but that day is not today.

● DEUX OR DIE UPDATE

The new mode is playable as a standard 2-player local co-op or as one player hot-swap mode that allows a single person to control both characters by switching on the fly.
Use Cervul's various tools to bring victory, or ruin, to the land and the people that inhabit it in this newly rebalanced version of the game!

Beat the game for the first time the literal second before 2025 completely by coincidence. So that was pretty cool.
a genuinely peak game, especially for only like 20 bucks 10/10 will definately play again
Great game with fantastic replay-ability, easily enjoyable single or multiplayer
So what If you took out the bad parts Castlevania 2,and Zelda II, stuck It In a blender and cook It just right? You get one hell of a fun game, even If you should play the good guy, when you do become evil and go past a point of no return It makes It feel so good to be bad. (Cervil never liked him anyway.) A huge bonus Is you can enjoy most of the benefits of co-op without a friend, although It does allow for some real fun sequence breaks.
So nice. I was truly immersed in the game for about 20 hours. It was really satisfying experience.
fun lil metroidvania with multiple playthroughs and quest lines
Very good game!
Nostalgia bait for the nostalgia inclined. Basically Castlevania 2 if it was good.
Best Castlevania spiritual successor ever... I hope they make a second one sometime soon but I will say this, no one likes stupid instapit deaths and knock back even back in the day. It adds "artifical" difficulty when there is no need for it. Yes, one has to watch where they are standing and when to attack but they only did that back in the day because games were smaller and needed to be balanced in making sure your sixty bucks is worth it for a cart game. Also enjoying all the Easter Eggs. Still having fun tho.
