Divinity: Original Sin starts off strong. You’re dropped into a murder investigation, which feels grounded and intriguing… until seconds later you’re whisked into another realm, where a celestial lady tells you to save the world or else a big bad dragon will eat us all. Subtle, right? Exploring Cyseal is a blast at first: chaotic monsters, gruesome undead, and the occasional talking well or decapitated head (yes, really). The world is quirky and fun if you take the time to poke around. But that also means the pace is extremely slow, especially if you’re a thorough explorer like me. The puzzles start out decent, but by the late game they turn into absurdly difficult, borderline sadistic nonsense. At times it feels less like clever design and more like the devs were working out some unresolved childhood trauma. The story, meanwhile, escalates into dramatic, epic, and even romantic territory… only to collapse into an ending so unsatisfying it makes you feel like a clown who ju...

The most boring game I've ever played in my life and that's not all. Well, let's start with fact that devs created the most tedious and dull dialoges, lifeless characters and if you wanna skip dialogues you'll get a problem with undestanding what you need to do and where to go. Even with reading every dialog and knowing whole game plot you still have a lot stupid puzzles where you should pixelhunt and do absolutely random sh*t to find way out. The game has way too many useless skills, and resistances to elemental damage are absolutely pointless. By the way, if you want to play as a fire mage, I wouldn’t recommend it — there are far too many mobs with fire resistance, especially in the beginning. There's too much bugs and not explained game mechanics that forces you to save every your turn. If you wanna buy a good turn-based rpg from these devs buy bg3. Cons: tedious plot; lifeless charcs; unexplained mechs; alot bugs; stupid puzzles. 2/10

Honestly, I enjoy it more than OS2. A bit more complex, more RP, love character interactions.

I finished it on my third attempt - I do not recommend this game in 2025. It's charming and nostalgic at this point - I've played every Larian game since Divine Divinity and they are obviously a talented team in some areas. But just play Divinity Original Sin 2 or Baldur's Gate 3. This game, especially the Enhanced Edition, is way too weak in most areas. You end up hating most of the characters, especially the randoms you encounter in the wilds and towns who keep. repeating. their. dang. lines. A prisoner who needs help will wail so much you end up killing them instead of saving them just to get them to shut up. The worst part of this game is the "puzzles," and I'm being generous with that term. They consist of either A) do EXACTLY what a book or animal tells you to do, B) sneak around and die a lot and reload / resurrect until you figure out where the button or switch you need to hit is (those STUPID statues - "intruder spied" - honestly drop 2015 Larian a whole letter grade in my b...

*Análise em português logo abaixo* It's been a long time since I've been so excited about a CRPG. Not since playing Neverwinter Nights and Dungeon Siege years ago have I felt this way. But with Larian's recent success with Baldur's Gate 3, I decided to play another one of their masterpieces, Divinity: Original Sin. This game has all the elements that define the genre: character creation, races, classes, skills, and equipment—all in great variety and abundance. The narrative is captivating and hooks the player from beginning to end, which is a common trait of Larian's games. Their previous titles are also excellent in this regard. The decisions you make have a significant impact on the game's outcome. It's great to revisit some characters from the world of Divinity and learn more about them, as the story takes place after Dragon Commander but before Divine Divinity. Exploration is one of the game's strongest points. The maps for each area aren't huge, but they are packed with co...

Larian Studios needs to keep making games, I wish I came across these earlier titles before playing Baldur's Gate 3. All very enjoyable!

Play this game if: - you are a fan of adventure RPGs where you need your thinking cap firmly set on you head - you like to use the classic combat trio melee/magic/bow - you look for a solid story with a lot of ways to progress - you are not put off by constantly having to micro-manage a gang of 4 characters, half of which do stuff you don't want - you are not put off by looping NPC quotes that get stale after the first 5 minutes - you are not put off by merchants with pathetic inventory you have to visit once every hour to - maybe - find something useful - you are not put off by having to rob every NPC and place blind just so you can afford decent starting gear - you are not put off by an infuriating crafting system that will only allow creation of sub-par items and leaves far too many things up to an RNG All these little atrocities transform what could be a real gem of turn-based RPG into an annoying trudge. I really tried to accomodate with a few issues by using mods and creating a ...

My first Larian Studios game was BG3 and I loved it, naturally I went back to play their older games to see what else they had on their roster. To my surprise, the foundation for BG3 is definitely felt here and it feels somewhat natural despite it's age. Sadly, it does feel a lot more buggy, rigid and inaccurate in understanding what commands I was trying to input. This led to some frustrating miss-clicks which made me reset quite a few times, not fun. But, to my surprise everything was voice acted. But when reading through the lines felt much more natural because a lot of the characters spout exposition for far too long, it started to feel like a wasted effort (I ended up just reading through most of the game). Overall, I enjoyed the experience but the clunky age of the system mixed with some annoying and overabundant puzzles in the last act makes it very difficult to recommend this game unless you are a big CRPG or Larian Studios fan.

Bugs, bugs and more bugs. cons, quests are very bugged, combat log is useless, inventory management is bugged beyond belief, crafting is bugged, dialog is bugged. story line is loopy. The rock paper scissors scheme is hopelessly tedious. pros, I will say the game never crashed for me. The combat is well done.
