About This Game

SpaceCorp: Ventures

SpaceCorp: Ventures, an expansion for SpaceCorp: 2025-2300AD, is scheduled for release in Fall 2025! In the exciting Ventures expansion, you will be able to play as any one of 14 different rival corporations, each with their own powers, abilities, and strategies, leading to new, exciting games with endless possibilities.

About the Game

Lead mankind's exploration into outer space! Build bases on the Moon and Mars, survey the rings of Saturn, explore the vast oceans of Europa, and send generational Colony ships to Alpha Centauri and beyond. SpaceCorp: 2025-2300 AD is a fast-playing, turn-based, sci-fi strategy game, all in one sitting!

Using a clever card-driven, hand-management system, SpaceCorp plays in under 60 minutes, and has many exciting game modes, from playing against aggressive AI's to playing against a devious, hand-crafted, card-driven automa. It also includes optional era situation cards to add additional variety.

Do you have what it takes to lead mankind into the future?

-------------------------------

In SpaceCorp, the player explores and develops outer space over three eras. The player controls an Earth-based enterprise seeking profit by driving the expansion of humanity into the Solar System and nearby stars. In SpaceCorp you can …

  • Assemble a spaceport at a Lagrange Point.

  • Launch an exploration mission to Mars.

  • Mine asteroids.

  • Earn profit from exotic resources discovered on the Jovian moons.

  • Discover microbial life in the subsurface oceans of Charon.

  • Decode exo-DNA to develop radiation resistant human pioneers.

  • Undertake a mission to Alpha Centauri in a generation ship.

  • Break through technological barriers to achieve faster-than-light travel.

  • Establish a colony in the Tau Ceti star system.

Each of the three eras is played on a different map:

  • The first era, Mariners, covers exploration and development out to Mars.

  • In Planeteers, players settle the outer solar system.

  • In Starfarers, players send missions to nearby star systems and establish interstellar colonies.

-------------------------------

SpaceCorp: 2025-2300 AD is a digital adaptation of the award-winning board game by the same name released in 2018 by John Butterfield and GMT Games. It was nominated for the "2018 Golden Elephant Award" on Board Game Geek, along with Root and Brass: Birmingham. Other award winners on Board Game Geek include Terraforming Mars, Twilight Imperium, Star Wars: Rebellion, and Dune: Imperium.

As a fast-playing, tight strategy game, SpaceCorp is perfect for players looking to get their strategy game fix in short time frames.

-------------------------------

SpaceCorp: Ventures is an expansion for SpaceCorp under development, and planned for release in Fall of 2025. In SpaceCorp: Ventures, players will be able to play as any one of 14 different rival corporations, each with their own powers, abilities, and motivations, leading to very dynamic games and ever changing strategies.

Just bought it to give it a go. It works, though it's rough on the visual aspect. The card are OK, but the board and spaceships lacks contrast and light. You can choose cubes to figure your spaceships, nice option for me. A solo play against the bot takes 20 minutes (Mariners Era) if you already know the game, this is interesting. I mean this is a blast ! I'm ok with digital versions of boardgames, I own a lot and launch them (Root, Wingspan, Spirit Island, Dune Imperium, Concordia, Labyrinth TWOT etc.) when I miss players around me. Or I play vs people online. You need a minimum level of ease to read key informations at a glance. The less you click the more you see. Improvements can be made here. The tutorial seems effective. Excited about the Ventures expansion ! I understand why the multiplayer stuff is not implemented, but it would be so GALACTIC.

Good implementation of the board game. Could use some QOL features, such as hover-over explanations/reminders, but it is great.

I've refunded this. I like the board game, but the PC version is horrible at release, Next to Gloomhaven the UI is the worst conversion I've seen so far. The tutorial locks up in the first turn, ingame choices take multiple clicks IF they work, the only reliable choice seems to be an obscure keyboard command that is nowhere documented (like Y for the OK/Cancel choices). I hoped for this to be good like the Terraforming Mars conversion, but not in this state.

The AI is non-existent; I doubled the AI's score in my second game having never played the board game, and on highest difficulty. And I'm a fairly average gamer, no master strategist. I'm not refunding in the hope it encourages the devs to implement a-sync multiplayer.

As a long time GMT fan, I love how well this plays like the board game. All the mechanisims and rules are perfectly implemented. The only issue, as others have pointed out, is the gawd-awful U.I. Clicks don't register, scaling is atrocious, it feels like it was vibe coded for mobile. It reminds me of the first version of Spirit Island that was released on steam, which eventually got better. Hopefully patches will make this go the same way.

The cute spaceships irritate me and I find them easy to lose against the background. I've found some bugs (losing progress cards is the big one). There are some rule choices that bother me (no borrowing infrastructure for example), but it is a creditable version of the board game. I'd like to see some user interface aspects cleaned up and multi-player mode available before Ventures comes out but I'm also excited about getting Ventures soon.

Qualified recommendation: This games is a credible attempt to port a fantastic board game into a digital platform. The interface is a little awkward, and there could be accessibility issues for people with vision problems. I've yet to encounter any actual bugs or clear rule violations. The main issues really are that it is just the base game (expansion is planed), and the AI is just not very good. Either the devs will need to add multiplayer, or improve the AI significantly. Until then, the game is best seen as a gateway or bridge to learning the boardgame. Mastery of the bots won't take you from zero to hero, but should you find yourself playing against experienced players, you won't embarass your (too much).

Good game overall, though I do have some suggestions for improvement. The graphics could benefit from a crisper, cleaner look, and it would be great to have adjustable graphics settings. At times, the explanatory text overlaps, making it difficult to read properly. Selecting a ship that is stationed on a base or colony can also be quite challenging. Additionally, it would be helpful if hovering over bases or other items displayed an explanatory tooltip. Well i have to add, that despite they mentioned ,the solo bot it could be unfair, it is ridiculously unfair. I mean is really unbalanced not just unfair.

This is an excellent presentation of an excellent board game, and it doesn’t require a 3’x4’ table. SpaceCorp is a challenging game with interesting mechanics that do not require doom fleets. There are many ways to win and to lose. The AI is no slouch. If you are unfamiliar with SpaceCorp avail yourself of the excellent manual linked to the app after doing the tutorial. This port does an excellent job of presenting the complex mechanics to relieve the player of mundane chores. Kudos to the developer. The fun and challenge is in the nuances of strategy, and while you ponder your next move, the excellent sound track creates the setting of a sci-fi adventure without ever becoming intrusive or annoying.
