About This Game

Before Megaloot, there was Yollen - a small, brutally minimalist game from solo developer axilirate. Originally made as a personal project, it's now finished in its most complete form.

You had a good life. Simple and safe. Then he came. No one knows where Yollen came from but one thing’s for sure: he broke your world into pieces. Now it’s on you to grind through every skill tree, master every craft, and build yourself into the ultimate weapon of payback.

This isn’t just another incremental game - it’s your long, bitter road to revenge, one perfectly-timed tap at a time.

Level everything. Use everything. Break everything. Every skill you train feeds into the next - craft better gear, gather rare materials, unlock abilities, and prepare to face the corrupted minions Yollen left in his wake. Whether you're cooking or smithing, thieving or fighting, every action brings you closer to taking him down.

Max out your stats, conquer master your craft, and finally, face Yollen himself.

Game Features:

An interconnected web of skills

Chop, smelt, fight, craft, and brew your way through dozens of skills, each one fueling the others in unexpected ways.

Idle, but intense

Every next step is harder than the last. You have to understand how the world works in order to progress.

Loot, craft, repeat

Manage a full inventory packed with hundreds of items, materials, weapons, and trinkets.

Your new daily ritual

Yollen Idle runs smoothly in the background while you go about your day - accompanied by a relaxing soundtrack, satisfying game sounds, and the quiet joy of progress.

Where it all started

Yollen Idle was the first step towards the development of full fledged Roguelike that is Megaloot. Just like in the game, you have to grind your skills to make something really worth your time.

You didn’t ask for this life.

But you’re going to end his.

Need to increase inventory space. Far too limited and really sucks that you can continue to harvest with a full inventory and get no reward. Still enjoy the game just needs some more QOL and more interactions would be nice as well.

The game definitely has potential, but unfortunately is quite disappointing. The progression does not seem thought / tested at all, it's not clear to me what's even the intended order to do things to progress. You frequently get stuck without an obvious way to progress other than grinding out like 20+ levels. Woodcutting has no upgrade until 25. Mining has no upgrade past iron until 25. Smithing requires you to either make iron bars or steel bars, but steel bars are only used to craft pickaxes... The things to speed up skills, like potions are significantly slower overall than just doing the skill unboosted. (ie. Catching 5 stone fish to make a mining haste potion, which will probably end up being like 5 durability, takes like 5 minutes to save just 5 seconds....) Gathering and thieving feel completely useless, other than to be something that you idle when you go to bed. (I guess that's the point?) Lockpicking sucks to train because of limited inventory space. Comb...

I really like this game, albeit with a few reservations. Yollen offers a pretty relaxed and simple experience, what you see is what you get, no prestige, no deep mechanics and no min-maxing. To me this is a positive, but I understand if you want to get more engagement out of a paid game, even if it's relatively cheap. There's isn't a whole lot to do, and progression is sluggishly slow despite the limited content. Again, for me this isn't a negative, I would like to believe that it's a conscious act of "sabotage" by the dev for the sake of minimalism and a love letter to diligence and hard work. You'll need to micromanage your small inventory, keep up your stamina and health for a few tasks that takes just about enough time for you to get bored watching your screen, and not enough time to actually leave it idling in the back for a bit and come back to it later. That is at least for the few first hours of the game until you get a few stacks of equipment and consumables to let auto eq...

This game is simply a humdrum slog. The dev seems to be addressing minor QoL and balancing issues, so I will not focus on those, however, the core gameplay loop just isn't fun, and will require a massive overhaul to fix. The content in the game varies very barely, making it extremely monotonous, there is very little meaningful progression of your character, and some skills take forever to level up to unlock the next thing that works the same as everything else in the skill just with a different number slapped on it.

I will recommend this game because I don't want to hurt it's rating, but boy its got some issues. This game has a lot of potential, but I think there is a fine line between a simple grindy game and a completely hopeless cause. In the later stages of progression this game becomes borderline impossible to progress. A great example is the lack of an upgraded axe. The axe you need to cut down trees has poor durability and it leads to needing potentially hundreds of axes to progress to the next type of wood. This could be fixed with an upgraded steel axe, but I don't see anything like that in the game. The progression becomes immensely brutal and slow very quickly and, at times, it feels as if the game wasn't ever designed to be progressed past a certain point. A good example of this is the thieving system. As far as I'm aware, the first thieving tier is literally more worthwhile than the second, and the third is a very marginal improvement. This all takes place while the experience and...

A lot of the reviews here are holding out hope that some future updates will suddenly make this game good, and thats why it has mostly positive. Unfortunately it is not good today. You simply do not have enough inventory slots to focus into more than task at a time, even with max inventory slots. Many of the skills require a tool to train, the tools break take up space. You need several tools because even past level 5 in a skill one tool won't nearly level you even once. Most tasks take up energy, if you want more energy you'll have to go pick berries. You'll need to pick berries by the hundreds of thousands to have enough energy to level every skill to 99. Berries have a rare chance to drop a special equipment berry that takes up an inventory slot. You can not leave the game on and pick slots full of berries because you will fill your inventory with the special berries. You will constantly need to go back and clear your inventory every 20 minutes or so. Once you have enough berrie...

Yeah no, this game is just a slog with next to no satisfaction. Everything feels slow and meaningless (leveling up, getting unlocks, the time actions take to complete). Absolutely abysmal gameplay loop.

The game starts fun but turns into a repetitive grind feast after some hours. I sadly can't really recommend it! The developer is really active and listens to the community and already implemented some requested QoL features! I will revisit the game at some point!

Nice game, but there isn't much to do. So I played through it really quickly!
