Will not go beyond 1080p. Or at least it will not go to 1440p on my desktop. 720p, 900p and 1080p were my only options. Full screen takes that resolution and linear scales it to the monitor resolution making the game blurry. I do not have a 4K display so I could not test that. Seems like if your refresh rate is not a multiple of 60hz it will do half vsync. On the Steam Deck OLED with it's 90hz display it was capped to 45fps until I dropped the refresh rate to 60hz. It was fine after that. However on the Steam Deck that are massive performance issues. When there are bullets and score pickups on screen the game will slow to 45/30 fps. When I use a bomb on the 1st stage boss the game slow to 20/15 fps. There was no slow down on desktop PC with a 7700x CPU and 9070XT GPU. I can only think there is some proton tweak needed to get the game to use the Steam Decks hardware properly. The deck should be able to hand this game. The shmup contains a rather fun and unique (relatively speaking) gimmick - you can "catch" enemies, and then either swing them around, use them as a shield, or have them explode into other enemies. The game's stages has a lot of different ways to utilize this gimmick, from frantic bullet hell to outright "puzzle" sections. This version will likely have the not-unwarranted stigma of being too similar to the other release of Triggerheart, by the same publisher no less. They erred (big time imo) by running a kickstarter for the other port (based off the Dreamcast original), and before that one had finished (but had reached its funding goal), announce a second crowdfunding campaign for this game, which is based off of the PS2 "Enhanced" port. A more savvy move (that would require more effort) would be to combine both into the ultimate package. This stunt naturally sours one on the greedy nature of small shmup publishers, but don't let that distract you from a good game. So what are ...
