Kathy Rain is the kind of point‑and‑click adventure that feels like rummaging through a dusty box of old VHS tapes: familiar, a little grainy, but oddly comforting. Set in the mid‑’90s, it follows the leather‑jacketed, cigarette‑smoking journalism student Kathy as she returns to her hometown to investigate the mysterious death of her grandfather. What starts as a personal errand quickly spirals into small‑town secrets, eerie visions and the kind of supernatural weirdness that Twin Peaks fans will recognize instantly. The writing is sharp and frequently funny, thanks to Kathy’s razor‑tongued sarcasm. She’s a genuinely compelling protagonist - flawed, stubborn, but easy to root for. The supporting cast ranges from quirky to unsettling and the game’s dialogue manages to balance dry humor with moments of genuine emotional weight. The story and the locations are very original. The story has some fantastic characteristics that I am not much of a fan of. Some characters and locations made me remember of Gabriel Knight 1. The nerd assistant, the church, the crypt, the bike. The graphics are ok and the music too. The voice acting its one of the best things of the game, specially Kathys actress. Some puzzles have a lot of potential to be great but they are not very intuitive. I found myself going from one location to another asking questions. It got really tiresome. Ill play the sequel at some point, for what I saw in the trailer, they improve the graphics.

Quite good but kinda short classical point and click adventure. Most of the puzzles are easy but a couple of tough ones too.

Very old school, classic style game and in most ways that's in a good way. I'm interested to both play the directors cut and also play the sequel.
