About This Game

In RoadKill, a late-night drive home turns into a nightmare. After narrowly dodging a speeding car, you're left stranded on deserted roads — but something unnatural is still out there, and it’s hunting you.

Explore an open, eerie town under the cover of darkness, search for a way to power your escape. Scattered notes and strange remnants hint at a long-buried legend — a presence the locals fear, a warning left ignored.

This is a deadly game of hide and seek. Every step you take, every corner you turn, it draws closer. Stay alert. Stay alive.

You dodged death once. Can you do it again?

Key Features:

  • First-Person Survival Horror: Feel every step, every breath, and every pulse-pounding second as the car closes in.

  • Open-Ended Exploration: Navigate an eerie town full of branching roads, dark alleyways, and empty parks.

  • Relentless Pursuer: The rogue car actively hunts you across the map. Stay hidden, stay moving, stay alive.

  • Objective-Driven Progression: Find your escape route and a way to distract the car in order to safely escape the town.

  • Atmospheric Sound Design: Hear the faint rev of an engine in the distance — and know it’s getting closer.

Fun indie horror game. Plenty of jump scares, Great audio design, well worth the play!

I like the idea of the game, which is why i am sad to say i do not reccomend it in it's current form. It contains several game-breaking bugs, as well as some design issues. Said bugs include the car teleporting as well as clipping through terain/houses or flying straight up a mountain to get you from quite a distance away. Design issues include an egregious ammount of invisible walls (which strangely do not affect the car.) and unclear rules about when a bush counts as one you can hide behind.

I quite enjoyed my experience with RoadKill. The game boasts a decently large map to explore and collectables to find along the way. There are still a few I've yet to find! The overall game loop is relatively straight forward: activate generators randomly generated across the map while avoiding a murderous sentient car. The style and ambiance, soundtrack and sound effects are all well done in my opinion. I did have some frustration with the car's AI, however. The sound cues for it would always come in too late resulting in a lot of unnecessary deaths. The car would, at random intervals, despawn and spawn elsewhere. There was even an occasion where the car spawned directly in front of me and killed me within seconds. The car detecting you is also incredibly inconsistent. I think with some tweaking on the AIs part, the game could truly shine! To summarize, the gameplay loop, aesthetic, and expansive maps are a plus, but the AI needs a bit of work!
