About This Game

Happy Nuclear

Happy Nuclear is a challenging puzzle investigation game that tests your thinking skills. Players take on the role of a detective who becomes involved with a terrorist organization planning to destroy the world with nuclear bombs. You must use logic and problem-solving skills to investigate and stop this organization before it's too late.

Gameplay Mechanics

Players need to identify the culprits by piecing together incomplete information to reconstruct a complete picture of events at the crime scene. The game system feels similar to Sudoku, but instead of filling in numbers, you're creating movement patterns of suspects at the crime scene.

In-Game Information Sources

  • "CCTV Smart Detection System" - This system provides partial information about who used rooms at specified times.

  • "Room Usage Log" - This system provides partial information about how many times a specified suspect entered this room.

Game Rules (Golden Rules)

Happy Nuclear has 2 fundamental rules that apply throughout the game:

  • Everyone must move only to adjacent rooms - skipping rooms is not allowed.

  • No one can stay in the same room for more than 1 hour.

Hotkeys make gameplay more fun

  • Press number keys 1-0 to pull out tokens and tools.

  • Press Delete to remove tokens and tools.

  • Copy and paste tools with Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V.

  • Quick access the applications: Press 'Q' to open logs, 'W' to open CCTV

The answers don't make sense. Even ChatGBT could not figure out the answer to chapter 4.

This is a unique puzzle game with its own distinctive style. It might look complicated at first with all the maps and token placement, but once you understand the core mechanics, you don't need to draw out every hour or keep track of every character's position. This makes the leaderboard competition much more meaningful and skill-based. However, I don't think it's very suitable for casual players since it requires quite a bit of brainpower.

It's... not really fun. Solving the puzzle genuinely is incredibly tedious. the optimal way to solve most scenarios is to spawn a number of maps equal to the hours, then click on each of the 6 character tokens for each map you spawn and slowly cycle through the dropdowns to get each room's information and place where everyone is in each hour. Maybe it'd be a little more bearable if you could group select and copy-paste (copy-paste 1 single object is functionally no different than clicking the spawn button, dunno why it's an "advertised feature") or spawn a group of all relevant objects with 1 button instead of 7, or if each hour's room locations was a single sheet (perahaps with the "obscured" info scratched or blacked out. The drop downs don't really add anything. The scoreboards are a terrible implementation since most of them come down to 1 multiple choice question; they reward just taking a blind stab and I think time is the only scoring factor? if there was a mid I'd vote that ...
