It's an 80s-esque arcade platformer, just shy of being a MAME title or something. It even has the menu set up as an operator menu. It's pretty solid, my only gripe is that some of the platforms can be a little deceptive about where they end (turning your double jump into a single jump to your death...), otherwise though, it's a game you can play through in an afternoon. And you have to, as it has no save feature, only the ability to infinitely credit-feed. That said, it's forgiving enough. Any levels longer than a few screens seem to silently checkpoint themselves, there's no timer, and powerups are relatively frequent. The game changes tactics from world to world as well, so it doesn't run the risk of repetition. I dig it. Well worth a pickup.

On my system this game is subject to a very strange bug: SWR runs at half speed unless I have a dinput device plugged in like my PS360+ based stick or 3D Extreme Pro flight stick. SWR doesn't recognize the directional input on the former and the latter is wildly unsuited to platformers. So I have to plug in a controller and then use my keyboard. Weird, lazy stuff Nekomura Games. Having said that it's a perfectly serviceable indie platformer, well worth the five bucks even with the gamble that you'll run into the same bug that I did.
(My playtime is misleading, I was playing without Steam for much of the game) Man this game really hit the spot! Between its cool art style and excellent level variety, I was always excited to see what would happen next with a lot of "wow, that was awesome" moments. The controls were a little unusual to me, and some levels would seem really tough at first, but then I'd figure something out to make the level more manageable which feels really satisfying. This is a hidden gem of a game for sure.
This was freakin wild, I definitely recommend giving this a shot, I don't really have words to explain it lol
Super bizarre arcade platformer, extremely unique and memorable. Easily a favourite in the genre.
This game is very good. Gorgeous pixel art, satisfying gameplay and can be finished in a short amount of time. Even the story is very interesting for what it is. Also, a lot of variety in the gameplay, there's always a surprise as you progress through the game. On my first playthrough I almost game over at several points, but since the difficulty is a rollercoaster I've been always able to make a comeback. But the second one was basically a speedrun, and ended up with 50 lives on average, so the learning experience of the first run was very rewarding. The only flaws are the difficulty balance and the boss fights. Some of the early stages can feel very challenging on a first playthrough, while the later worlds can be the complete opposite. Bosses are a joke, which is sad considering that some have completely unique gameplay systems.
I guess I'll leave a review because it's a cute game? Although to be honest, it takes a bit of adjustment to get the hang of the controls. I had so many problems JUST in the first screen since I couldn't figure out what to do. The game feels harder than the average platformer since almost every jump requires double-jump and so many enemies require multiple hits to kill. By this metric, it's also a very LONG game as, even though you get a LOT of lives to start with, and an extra life every 600 points (and, seems like, INFINITE continues), EVERYTHING is one-hit kill, so unless you have mastered the controls and enemy timing, etc., you'll be replaying stages until you get tired (and also there's no password or level select that I know of, so you have to do it in one sitting). Luckily, it has controller support, so if you can't manage with keyboard controls (I couldn't), that's a happier option.
