In the last Helicopter Simulator, I was able to actually grab the switches, levers, joysticks and such in VR. Now, it's using some kind of point and click interaction system, and it's way too clunky and unintuitive for VR.
This is pretty bad. No new helicopters, super small map, nothing works right. Sad to see they took 4 years building something way worse than the first edition. Wait for the sale
I was ready for some VR helicopter flight but the controls are terrible in my opinion ,a point and click system , can hold nothing so steering feels very off and when u want to flip a switch other stuff get caught in your beam and your engine will stall, and i guess a paracute is DLC
I played the original on meta 3 and it was fine i was excited to practice my helicopter skills on this new game but i am not able to grab the cyclic and the collective at the same time so no way to land a helicopter unless you let go of one or the other. You can only use one hand at a time which makes it impossible to fly a helicopter. I hope they fix this issue soon so I can repurchase the game but for now I requested a refund.
PC review (no VR, just normal monitor). HOTAS x56 joystick system worked like a charm (but I wish there was a ready-made setup for mapping the buttons) Is the game a bit buggy? You bet! But it seems quite fun. I've gone through the tutorial and a bit of free flight. For some reason I can't get it to lift off when in simulation mode (also no engine sound, but the rotors are spinning...), but arcade physics works fine. I'm getting a steady 60 fps on an RTX4070. I've been waiting years for a game like this, so I'll definitely give the developers time to iron out some bugs.
Not bad, not bad at all, It will have to do for now at least my computer has the right spec's. So yeah, pretty good game overall.
While the game has potential, it just lacks a lot of realistic flying characteristics of a helicopter. Very tiny map, very dual missions and they point you where to go. Was hoping with the fire fighting and all that, we'd be able to carry a load of water and drop water on the fire; for SAR, carry a litter and drop it down to pick up someone. However instead, with the fire, we simply shoot a flare out which, is counter productive as that while simply create another fire. The idea of the game is great but it certainly needs to be expanded upon and worked on heavily before giving it another try.
This game is a train wreck. Don't waste your money.
I would recommend this game for everyone. It’s nice and so good quality and graphic but the problem is I’m not playing in VR and I’m using PlayStation control and I can’t fix the camera. The camera is moving a lot and I can’t study it or fix it in one position which is in the book and I’d like to play it like this without VR so please if there is any update about the camera, just put in the settings and the settings need an updates please if you can do update for the settings and camera as soon as possible cause I’m I can’t play in this situation with camera moving and I can’t control in my aircraft even I can’t land.
