I saw Markiplier play this game YEARS ago. From start to finish.I was pretty young then but this game still caught my attention and years after that I've bought the game anyway. It’s one of the darkest games I have ever played, the art style is great, the sounds are terrifying like they should be, the storyline is interesting and immersive, the puzzles are nice and not quite difficult but not easy as well. For some people the switching seasons part may be boring but I find it extremely interesting unlike any other puzzle game that I played with the similar perspective. After so many years the game still amazes me! traumatised girl with her emotional support black kitty, i feel so seen, i could cry!. i love the visuals and story of this game, it's so creepy and unsettling but yet still so comforting and familiar ughh
For me, this game was certainly a fight to get through and not because it's difficult to immerse oneself into. Rather, I more so struggled with pulling myself out of it! The pacing, storyline, and thematic elements certainly weren’t the issue… for a point and click game, the depth and richness was rather startling. The agonizing parts to get through were the levels of self reflection the game requires with each and every chapter. Between the visuals of hospitalizations, gaslighting, all consuming/enveloping trauma, and recognizing the agony of sorting through one’s own memories to find the truth buried within the depth and grotesque is excruciatingly cumbersome. However, at the same time, the game elegantly allows one to confront these kinds of realities through an artful journey that teeters on madness and bursts of sweet relief. One of my favorite passages from the game is: “I don’t feel the need to hide from pain anymore, because it’s part of me. It feels like love is...
I've loved this game for years. There is literally nothing quite like it, it is one of the most immersive stories and experiences. I've replayed it multiple times because it's just that good
Some puzzles were a little confusing but overall it was a great experience.
I love this game if you're a fan of the Silent Hill games you will probably love this, if you get stuck don't be afraid to use a walk through.
grew up watching gameplays on YT as a lil kid. now i can play the game cause it's on sale as an adult
LOVED this. lwk didn't rly understand it fully, the overall concept is clear, but there are many theories abt the actual events of the game; and the border between what's in fran's head and what's actually "real" is very blurry. it's quite creepy, but for some reason comforting, 10/10
Perhaps this is my most beloved game. Its unique atmosphere seeps right into your soul. The soundtracks deserve a special mention: they don't just avoid becoming tedious—they take up permanent residence in your memory. Talking vegetables and flying axolotls, an evil spirit with a blood-stained goat skull, conjoined twins, and finally, different realities and many psychological instabilities –this is but a small glimpse of what awaits you in this game. I am at a complete loss for words to express just how deeply I adore it 🐈⬛
As someone (among many) that grew up watching playthroughs of this game (especially the first chapter), finally playing it was a delightfully creepy experience, even if I still remembered most of the puzzles from watching Markiplier and Jacksepticeye back in the day. The atmosphere is very well done, and I love the innocence of Fran shining through in her dialogue (and the other children, despite their various traumas.) The story is amazing in it's own right, and the right mix between surrealism and horror. Along with leaving certain bits up to your own interpretation.
