I'm giving this game a 5/10 Some very cool ideas here, and some solid simulation building. The CONCEPT of the story is very cool. All that said, I am kind of offended as to how little research the developers did into the actual Coast Guard. I was in the Coast Guard. Its nothing like this. This is more like the story of the most well funded, die hard auxilarists the world has ever known. Also special mention has to be given to the script and voice acting. I think the developers voiced this themselves in their house and had to keep their voice down because the kids were asleep or something. It's "Jill Sandwich" bad. All that said, I'm enjoying the game and am impressed with the branching storylines (complete bullshit as some of them are) So this gets a tentative thumbs up, only if it is on sale. If someone took this and threw a heapload more time and money towards it, we would have an exceptional gem Semper Paratus

Around an hour I spent on the first mission, the ghost ship. No denying I enjoyed the majority of it. The game has real potential, and the different elements mixed together do work very well - sure, the first person sequences are rough and require work, and there's bugs galore, but there's the essence of a great game in here. Unfortunately the simple lack of a basic save system meaning you pretty much lose everything once you stop playing unless you're lucky enough that you passed a (unidentifiable) checkpoint means the game is basically alpha and not fit for public release. Doors which don't actually work properly, to interface elements which simple haven't been playtested properly, this is a game in early development which has evidently been released in borderline alpha state. Shame really, it really is a good game underneath the hood, but unfortunately it's rather broken and stops you enjoying it as much as you'd want to. Polish it more and this is a definite yes, but as it stan...

This game was awesome, I loved the gameplay and the story. You have an option of a gun the entire game, I never used one. I was stuck on two parts for probably an hour each, so not including that, I don't really think 19$ is worth 7hrs of gameplay. I wish the game was longer and had more to it, thought it was going to be a heavy simulatiton game but it is alot more of an investigation/puzzle game. Pros: Great idea, great story, fun gameplay Cons: Short story, don't actually use a gun when its in the manual, glitchy at some points, more of just an investigation game than driving boats

Should be named "refugee saving simulator" After having to save refugees, you would think the story gets more interesting with a crime happen, but then it's again all about refugees. I played it 100% with both endings, but more or less just because it wasn't hard and I wanted all the achievements. However, the content isn't that much and it can get REALLY frustrating doing certain things just because the developers wanted to get more time out of the game. The story is completely unrealistic. If you can get it on sale, try it if you want, but otherwise don't. Also it's REALLY buggy sometimes. By the way: If you want the last achievement for playing both endings, you have to play them in ONE session. That means, when you finished the second ending, just load the last save of the other ending and play those last 2-3 minutes. After that you will get the achievement.

There are some games which move your spirit to tears. There are others which present inside you a call to action. And still there are some which embolden the smallest among us to dare to do great this. Coast Guard is a game which does none of this. It is an absolute waste of money, time and disk space and may god have mercy on your soul if your purchase this ridiculously expensive piece of sludge.

I'm having a hard time "getting into" the game. Lot's of objectives aren't clear and vague, only to make you look everywhere to guess what to do. Gameplay is slow as well! Water effects are decent... and it stops there. It is an interesting blend of simulation and adventure but as of now, I'm not in the mood for something this slow and its vague objectives. I may give it another try once it get's cheaper as I'm gonna ask for a refund... 20$ for this game is overpriced in my book.

Despite the previous number of negative reviews, I purchased this game. That was a mistake. The game is very buggy, does not explain any controls, has a weird interface and worst of all... does not accurately depict the coast guard in any way. 1/10, DO NOT BUY

Well, this Game could have been Good but sadly the Game is riddled with Bugs, Logic mistakes, bad Physics, crap Performance on all Quality Options (down to 20FPS with Xeon 1231v3. GTX970, 16GB Ram). If you want to get that Game, wait for a Sale. Like i stated above, the Idea is great and thats where the good Things already end. If you play for Achievements expect somehwere between 8-10 Hours for 100%.
