Welcome to the Empire, Miner!

It’s 1984, and in the basement of a quiet arcade store somewhere in the UK, an experimental arcade machine is gathering dust.

The headline game: Our Nation’s Miner!
A game that puts the player in the shoes of a synthetic clone, waking up centuries too late into a spacefaring empire that has now been overrun with a peculiar mix of rogue AI.

But not everything is as it seems. The arcade machine holds dark secrets that need to be uncovered. Be careful not to fall down the rabbit hole...

An Evolving Game

Our Nation's Miner is an evolving project which ties into the grand narrative of an alternate-reality game called 'Entropy'. Over time, the game will be expanded and change in response to player interactions both inside and outside of the application.

Unfolding Mysteries

This is a game with an ever-expanding collection of hidden features and secret paths. Players are encouraged to experiment and be the first to uncover these mysteries. Their discoveries may change the game forever.

Warning

This game is an experimental project. A significant amount of content is hidden behind secret features to coincide with an alternate-reality game called 'Entropy':

I'm a little bit dissapointed. This game looks and sounds really great but that's it. (So far) There is no lore, no story being told and nothing else to explore. You just fly from A to B, destroy some asteroids and move on to the next planet. You'll finish the game before maxing the weapon upgrades and the money you get for crafting items is only being used for 4 other ship-models, each available for $50. I finished the game with 300k wihout anything to spend on. If that's what you're looking for and if you're willing to pay about € 16,- for 3 hours of gameplay go on and take it, otherwise I would not recommend to buy it.

This is not a game. This is a tech demo. You should be able to "lose" a game. Even if not lose, you should at least be aware that you're doing it wrong. If you are inclined to try this anyway, take a careful note of your play time to not exceed two-hour refund barrier. You may need it.

===Our Nation's Miner, A short review=== =Pros= 1. Great writing, and an enjoyable story. However short it is. This is also true of the game's tie in ARG, Entropy. 2. The aesthetic of the game is absolutely stunning, and graphically it certainly plays well overall. 3. The core gmaeplay is wonderful, very fun, and well polished. 4. Mysterious and intriguing. The game ends in a way that leaves me with many questions, and looking forward to whatever comes next. =Cons= 1. Relatively short, though it fits the story. There's currently two routes to play through (four if you count the "betrayal" routes). The two I have played took about 30~ minutes each. 2. Little level variety, but the style of gameplay fit as such that I don't believe it effected gameplay too much. Each level quite honestly felt like it was the same map, but because of how active the gameplay can be it was hardly noticeable. 3. There was little variation to enemy ships, outside of their look. The core AI (to me) felt lik...

Well, this game is quite interesting. It has a lot of potential. The graphics are amazing. You can tell that there was some time taken to make the game look good. However, I am not as impressed with the controls of the game. You can only move by using the "W" key and to turn, you have to use your mouse. Hopefully it is given more content and improved controls.

As others have said, this is not a very extensive game. General premise is that you're trying to get your freedom back by mining asteroids for a corporation. And, as it were, that's the extent of the story. Actual gameplay is pretty okay. Controlling the ship can be a bit annoying at first as you can essentially only thrust forward, so you have to spin yourself 180 degrees and thrust to stop yourself. As others have said, tool upgrades and ship upgrades are pretty pointless beyong a certain level. If you set your mind to it, you could finish this game in under two hours. Just hammer through it and you might get a bit of enjoyment out of it. Pun intended.

Our Nation's Miner has proven to be a pretty damn fun experience, I'm mostly in it for the story as the writing and ever-evolving endgame content has kept my interest easily. The gameplay itself is easily enjoyable though slightly repetitive, I'd gladly recommend it to a friend especially at such a relatively low price, I've easily gotten my money's worth with this one

absurdly badly optimized, runs like garbage on the lowest settings, it's not an old gfx card, lots of other new games run great, but this 5-10fps don't make no sense
