I am giving this a reluctant do not recommend, and am sorry to have to do so because I do appreciate the concept behind the game and the opening plot to justify the style of gameplay that it has. However, the execution of those ideas is not the least bit well done, causing this game to feel like it's failing as both an educational supplement and a vehicle for entertainment. I grew up bilingual, speaking French alongside English, so I opted to play the French version first to see how it would present itself and use that as a measure for if it might be helpful for practicing/learning languages I'm not already so familiar with (such as expanding out/reinforcing my understanding of Korean ahead of a trip I'm planning for next year.) I'm glad I did so, as it allowed me to catch a lot of problematic issues I would likely miss if I was unfamiliar with the language and took everything the game did at face value. For instance- the game highlighting and translating only one part of a compound...

This is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the language you're trying to learn. But that said, there are some... issues. I don't know if it's because I've dipped my toes in other languages, or other possible reasons; but at least in the polyglot version, I do randomly find words from the wrong language in sentences I'm trying to parse out. The only example I remember off the top of my head is the Spanish language module giving me 'Oui' or 'Non' to a yes/no question. The game also crashed repeatedly when I was trying to speak with the "bird lady" in the first town while looking for Juan. And the method of reporting these bugs is broken. It loads up my e-mail client, but doesn't fill out the address I'm supposed to e-mail to, or give me the information needed to actually report them. Probably just a bug.
A fun way to learn the basics of a language, Spanish in my case. Teaches you important words and grammar concepts in a playful way. My favorite mini games so far were sudoku with animals instead of numbers and battleship with conjugation tables instead of coordinates. Some bugs still to sort out, but nothing major. Very kind support on Discord as well.
It has been amazing conciliating and combining this games with German classes. Personally I don't game that much, so playing it on MacOS allowed me to play, work and learn a new language. There are some bugs, some missing features. but we have got a Discord channel to report it all and talk to developers. Has everything to grow more and more.
I really want to like this game, and I think if they make a lot of changes, work more on what should have been included up front, it could be great. I get it's new so the UI needing some work is understandable, but I guess they used either AI or possible just simple text to speech for the pronunciation, so most of it is aggressively wrong. As well, most of the questions that are asked have answers that were never introduced, and there's no hint/no way to get help at all, so you're just wrong with no way to not have been. And the questions that aren't at this max difficulty setting are so ridiculously simple and overexplained. Just seems like they wholly missed the mark there, and I'm not sure how that could have happened/could have been missed at the initial design stages. Disappointing, overall. Other issues that need help include the controls (it's possible to get stuck, and your only option is to load a previous save, so save often), and the general UI.
