In the world of Curse of Dominion, power flows through ancient forces known as Blessings—mysterious abilities that can be awakened within rare individuals, though scholars still debate how or why this occurs. These coveted powers can be stolen through bloodshed, making every bearer both hunter and hunted.
Two fundamental forces govern most of these Blessings: Order, representing unity and structure, and Chaos, embodying destruction and upheaval. Each is symbolized by the sacred tree—Order channeled through its reaching branches, Chaos through its deep, gnarling roots.
The continent of Elvorith was once a unified realm, ruled from the great castle of Erindos. Ancient tradition spoke of a prophesied awakening—a legendary Blessing that would transcend the division between Order and Chaos and restore true balance to the world. The old king's armor still bears the symbol of the complete tree, a reminder of what was meant to be.
But as generations passed without this prophesied awakening, faith fractured. The people began to revere the individual Blessings instead, and dissenters rose to claim their own domains. To the northwest, the Kingdom of Solvane embraces Chaos and its destructive power. To the southeast, the Selarion Empire champions Order and rigid control. Both are ruled by bearers of their respective Blessings, and both hunger for greater power.
Now, as your story begins, only the castle of Erindos remains of the original unified kingdom—until you awaken the Blessing of Dominion itself. But in a world torn by ancient grudges, such ultimate power may prove more curse than gift. Every kingdom will stop at nothing to claim this legendary force, and you must decide whether dominion over all is worth the price it demands.
