Cataclysm is a legendary game, it is one of the deepest (if not the deepest) traditional roguelikes you can find and also happens to be in a zombie apocalypse! This version is from Worm Girl who has been developing the game since forever, it has a very fair price tag, and its completely open source to try for free. The sprites used are unique to this build and the game mechanics has been refined to offer an experience more focused on individual survival than the settlement management game play style taken by Dark Days Ahead (although it still has all the features from DDA and you can still make settlements) 10/10 without hesitation.

About This Game
Cataclysm: The Last Generation is a single-player turn-based post-apocalyptic survival game. Based on the all-time classic Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, The Last Generation tells the story of a world where the dead walk, alien horrors stalk the land, and the fabric of reality as we know it has come undone. Despite all this, a few unlucky souls yet survive, and whether the last generation of humanity is destined to die off, or to become something fit to survive in this brave new world is up to you.
TLG's primary aim is to preserve Cataclysm's depth and respect for plausibility while refining what it has always done best as a game, foregrounding character progression and immersive life sim elements in a world that will put your survival skills to the test. Dig through the wreckage of shadowy government conspiracies to uncover the truth about the Cataclysm, form your own band of survivors, and adapt to the myriad threats by expanding your arsenal, installing military-grade bionics, or mutating into your own kind of monster.
Trailer music "Splatterpunk" provided by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio.

just look up ssethtzeentach's video on Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead to get an idea of how good this game can be. yeah some things have been changed but i think it's for the better for the sake of emergent storytelling.
I like it I like supporting indie devs
Don't worry it will only need you to do 6hrs of hw to not flounder around then after that 6 more hrs to figure out things on your own cause you skipped out on that homework then 6 more hrs after that staring at menus to learn controls and short cuts along side a couple hours of google to figure out how to live like a normal person... What was I talking about... Oh yeah game is cool and Worm Girl is cool take my money and keep making this fork as best as it can be.
this is awesome. worm girl really knows what cdda was supposed to be. thank you worm queen for bringing my favorite game BACK. Maximum praise for TLG
I'm not autistic enough for this carp
cataclysm the forever generation thank you wormgirl 🌠
Best fork of Cataclysm to date in my opinion. Back to the old lore, food and ammo are slightly harder to find which is actually a good thing because in the main branch you'll often find so much food and bullets that after your first 5 days the challenge drops out of the game completely. Overhaul to multiple different combat systems which make it generally more of a challenge but also more fair/logical and ultimately more fun, BIONICS ARE BACK IN LABS, CLINICS, AND ZOMBIES!! And the addition of the grapple and throw mechanics feels straight out of Dwarf Fortress Adventurer mode. For long time fans of the game, this is a return to tradition with regular updates, a much better alternative to playing on ancient builds of the main branch. And with a steam version to manage updates and give you easy access to a local community forum all for the low low price of £5? I've already bought this version 3 times, once for myself, once for my brother, and once for my best friend. I don't even care ...
