Absolute trash game. Terrible mechanics, non stop repeating the same garbage over and over with shitty character audio constantly repeating itself.

The first game was great, but this sequel is hard to get into. The starting missions are large and overwhelming.
The second part is not bad, but it is inferior to the first part in many ways, in combat, plot and even adequate stealth. Adding co-op is a good idea, but in some missions it is almost impossible to complete this way. Another point, because you play with a friend, if not as a host, then for achievements with collecting, or killing, you can forget, even if you collect the required number, you will not see the achievement, and this is not 1-2, but half of the achievements. Styx: Shards of Darkness is a stealth-action game developed by Cyanide Studio that builds upon the foundations laid by its predecessor, Styx: Master of Shadows. Released in 2017, this sequel delivers a darker, more expansive adventure centered around Styx, a cunning and morally ambiguous goblin thief with a unique blend of agility, magic, and sarcasm. The game successfully blends stealth mechanics with an intriguing fantasy world, creating a rich experience that appeals to fans of sneaky gameplay and immersive storytelling alike. One of the most striking aspects of Shards of Darkness is how it expands the scope of its environments and narrative. The game features sprawling, intricately designed levels set within a dark fantasy universe dominated by towering castles, dense forests, and subterranean passages. These environments encourage exploration and offer multiple paths for players to approach objectives, rewarding creativity and careful planning. The world-building is strong, with ...
Good fun, puzzles and mechanics. 10/10 would play again
A very fun game. Styx has more personality that most games
PLAYS WELL ON STEAM DECK Has co-op. Gameplay improvements in almost every way over Styx: Master of Shadows except three: 1) Dropping bodies off a ledge is now difficult due to wonky ragdoll physics. 2) Dropping a body now makes you stand up, meaning you must manually crouch again 3) The heat vision/tactical vision/stealth vision makes things quite dark. It also automatically turns off once you start moving Story and lore: it's fine but it's not as good as the first game. The game also ends before really reaching a conclusion. Our goblin makes a lot of 4th wall breaking sarcastic jokes. (He also does it when we die, but that can be toggled off in settings). I found somebfunny, others I didn't. I preferred Master of Shadows' approach to humor and sarcasm, it was more subtle. TL;DR better gameplay, worse story, Has co-op.
This takes everything from its predecessor and improves upon it. The level design is better, the skills are more varied, the UI is better overall, and it's less repetitive than the first game because the missions are more creative. The puzzles are fun and none of them were frustrating, just challenging enough to make one feel accomplished. Also, this game is better at going full murder goblin hobo on disgusting elves!
Fantastic sequel gameplay wise, nicely doubles down on Styx being a little shit and gives you well designed levels to sneak through. On the meh side we got tons of leftover jank from the first game and a story ramping up to absolutely nothing.
Fun Stealth action game! Styx has fun banter and an F U attitude, Its not as immature as I thought going in. I enjoyed the regular missions but the two "action boss battles" are not really my cup of tea, and are not super well executed, but overall a very decent game!
