Top tier dog fighting. Rivals House of the Dying Sun for fun. Its more of a wing commander style. The story is light but if you like military sci fi its rather comfy. The flying isn't freespace 2, but it sure borrows a lot. Good stuff.

I grew up playing Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance before moving onto more complex space sims like Elite Dangerous. Alliance Peacefighter scratched that nostalgia itch of a more back to basics, single-seater fighter, arcadey space game. Bearing in mind this was made by a two-person team, the campaign is good, the graphics are great with a more stylised approach and I had a lot of fun blowing up a lot of enemy starfighters. If you have a joystick/HOTAS and you like those old-school space combat sims, I think you'll enjoy this.
