LACK OF INTERNAL KEY BIND CONFIGURATION SUPPORT (Thanks to @TARTrazine for the recommendation of adding a title.) I think it's time I fix my review as I believe my original one was a bit lackluster and harsh. This game is genuinely fun for what i seen. And I honestly recommend playing it above all else. But I have a pet peeve when it comes to key binds. Cause of aforementioned disability, as such it is hard to play some games. We should not have to resort to 3rd party programs. Or external configs to key bind a game in 2025. That is my only issue with the game. I don't know why the game didn't have it a launch. But in time I know the developers will add the function in. For now for those that need to change key binds like me. I recommend looking to the advice to some who commented upon this review. As some did give some good advice. Controller Support does work for the game. Peak is Compatible with the Steam Deck (Thank you @TeamBobbo for the Information.) ---------------------...

About This Game
PEAK is a co-op climbing game where the slightest mistake can spell your doom. Either solo or as a group of lost nature scouts, your only hope of rescue from a mysterious island is to scale the mountain at its center. Do you have what it takes to reach the PEAK?
WORK TOGETHER
Need a Hand? You’ll need to rely on your friends to have any hope of scaling the mountain, which changes every single day. Help each other up ledges, or place ropes and climbing spikes to make the way easier for those who come after.
CLIMB
The Mountain Takes no Prisoners! Climb through 4 biomes on your way to the PEAK, each with their own life-threatening obstacles. You’ll need to scavenge for questionable food to survive, and manage your injuries carefully - every setback limits your stamina, making it harder to climb.
SURVIVE
Prepare For the Worst: Discover a variety of helpful survival items, from energy drinks to climbing spikes to the mysterious Anti-Rope. You’ve got no hope of making it to the PEAK unless you press every advantage given to you.
A NEW ISLAND EACH DAY
The game's map rotates out every 24 hours! Try out the new layout each day, or give the same island multiple attempts in a day until you conquer it.
EARN BADGES
A Well-Seasoned Scout: Show off your survival prowess with dozens of badges to earn and cosmetics to unlock.
CLIMBING IS BETTER WITH FRIENDS
Multiplayer in PEAK is friends-only - invite up to three other scouts through Steam to climb together, or face the mountain alone if you're really brave!

Communicate through proximity chat
4 different biomes to ascend through
A bunch of questionable foods
Lots of different climbing items
Campfires and marshmallows
Simple but Done Right
Peak is the third game I played from Aggro Crab, after Going Under and Another Crab's Treasure. Both of those were decent games, and I think Going Under is good. But Peak is their peak work. It's much simpler in design compared to those two, but it works much better.
Gameplay
The game is very fun, especially with friends. It's hard to balance level design in a procedurally generated game, but Peak does it really well. There's always some route you can take to reach your goal, which is very hard to design, but is done great here. The game could definitely use more content, though. If Aggro Crab can release free or paid updates, this can be an even better game in the future.
Visuals & Performance
The game runs well, and I didn't experience any issues. The art style is simple and nice. Everything feels clean and readable.
Conclusion
Peak is a very fun and well made game. I think this smaller scope project is better for Agg...
Edit: They made a toggle yay! This is my current favorite game to play with friends, I highly recommend it. Unfortunately they added a mimic to the game in the latest patch that triggers me, as I have schizophrenia, I already have hallucinations that act exactly as the mimic does. When I saw it, it freaked me out so bad I had to close the game. I really hope they add a toggle to it.
They removed the pith helmet for political correctness, and it frustrates me when things I’ve earned are taken away.
Good game, Horrible optimization for lower grade laptops, used to run fine but with newer updates i cant go even pass tropics without crashing. (I still will keep playing cause its addicting but please aggrocrab make better optimizaton settings)
Peak has a lot of potential but needs further development work. This is one of those new 2024 brand of proximity chat coop games with the premise that if you make a mistake, you die and watch your team for the rest of the round. In this case, you'll be afk for 15-20 minutes or so (or shorter if you died at the end or if your team follows you). The problem is that the games definition of a mistake is very different from the players definition of a mistake, and there's just too many bugs and issues that can kill a run an hour in. Just a few I've seen in 7 hours of gameplay - Fall damage calculating incorrectly, drops of a few inches taking 75%+ of your max stamina. If both your feet are off the floor at the same time you're at risk of this. I've had it happen from walking down a hill too fast. The opposite can happen too, if you're lucky you can fall off a cliff and barely lose 10%. Random crashes, especially around level transitions. Very unfortunate to clear a biome and then lose y...
had a great time with friends here.....and some great big ass falls... Ps: Love the echo/voice thing in this games, makes it much realer if a stupid ahhh friends falls past you xD
This game is basically screaming at your friends through proximity chat while hanging off a cliff in a beautiful landscape. • Maps change regularly • You collect badges that feel weirdly relatable • Climbing is hard, but so satisfying • Cosmetics are actually earned • It’s hilarious, punishing, and pretty all at once Play it solo if you hate yourself. Play it with friends if you love chaos. 10/10, would drop Bing Bong again.
this game is very fun and i enjoyed playing it alot but every time i launch the game it crashes and i have to open it multiple times for it to work and even when that dosent happen, it crashes during the run normaly near the shore but somtimes in the kiln too and it compleatly ruins my whole run
