Secrets of Blackrock Manor - Escape Room

Secrets of Blackrock Manor is a not-too-difficult 'Escape the Mansion' game. The story is familiar... You arrive at the house of a distant relative and must learn the secrets left behind. The game requires you to save manually and 3 slots are provided. Achievements are all story-related and you will obtain 100% if you complete Blackrock Mansion. The story unfolds as you gain access to one room at a time, by solving all puzzles in each room. Puzzles are all logic-based which I really liked. Clues abound and there were no purely mechanical puzzles. The hint system is perfect. You are nudged towards any prerequisite puzzles. On occasion, you are given one part of the solution but never explicitly told how to solve the puzzle, Many of the hints have a 'wait' timer that encourages you use the time thinking about the puzzle. I played with a controller and there were a few puzzles that i needed to supplement my efforts with the mouse. Overall, the controller is very well-supported but not ...

Beutiful and well done puzzle game - we have to solve the way out of Blackrock Manor and on our path out, we learn the story. Liked both - story and the puzzles, all logical and not too difficult, but not easy either. HIghly recommended for all puzzle/escape room fans and those, who want to try a good brain gym!

Recommended with caveats. I found most of the puzzles to be well designed, not too easy, but not impossibly hard. Striking that balance is already rare in this genre. However, there were a handful of puzzles, especially towards the end of the game, that required too many logical leaps for my taste. Nothing I couldn't solve with hints, but some players really dislike using hints because it feels like cheating. Then there's the common issue for these kinds of games, where the major source of being stuck is often that you have no idea WHICH puzzle to solve next, and so you waste time and energy on a puzzle only to discover its not solvable yet. When you have that issue AND too many logical leaps, in the style of trying to guess what the dev is thinking, then it can get annoying. So bottom line - Mostly good, if you can handle some of the more frustrating puzzles.

3/5 - Average The puzzles were generally good, but there was some leaps of logic that went a bit too far. Downvoted because of the story reveal at the end... I'm so tired of DEI messaging in my video games, this trend needs to end.

I did enjoy the art-style an music of this but as a puzzle game it is flawed, I wont recommend it cuz for certain amount of the puzzles the solving logic just don't make sense, that made my experience rly bad.

Fun little puzzle game. Definitely worth picking up if you're getting an itch to just knock out some puzzles.

This was fun. i do enjoy games like this that make think and do puzzles and still have a story. Most of the puzzles were fun, i didnt really understand one or two and brute forced those. overall though, loved the concept, and had a pleasure with the game.

Great game!!! All the puzzles were so well thought out and the hints feature was nice, it reminded me a lot of The Inheritance of Crimson Manor. Great story.

FANTASTIC PUZZLES! Perfect level of difficulty - never felt like I did not know what to do or where to go next - but to be fair I play a LOT of these types of games; But even with the amount of puzzle games I've played I felt like the puzzles were very creative and refreshing! The hint system is great imo as well, they only show you where the clues that pertain to the specific puzzle are. That way you can confirm you have all the info you need, get to work on solving, and not spoil any of the actual puzzle logic. So you never feel like they ruined the puzzle. If you really need more hints there are YouTube video walkthroughs. Only issue I had was that I wish there was more!
