disclosure--i've completed both apple jack 1 & 2 multiple times as part of their original xbox live indie games releases i have been gaming for over 4 decades. this is one of my TOP 10 GAMES OF ALL TIME (yes i've played smb3, super metroid, zelda oot, halo, half life, et al). apple jack seems one of those games you might happen upon circumstantially... but it was actually kismet. playing this game is like a fever dream... the music, the art, the gameplay, the screen-filling combo-reward explosions... it all comes together to create some surreal experience that really resonates and sticks with you. TRAGICALLY, RIDICULOUSLY underappreciated. i would punch a baby for a third entry. could go on and on but can't be doing with long winded reviews... just flurking play it already. especially if you love super mario bros. 2 (nes), super meat boy, or just retro 2d platformers in general. if i were rich i'd hire this one-man dev genius to make a second sequel... and i'd probably chall...
