Nice story. QUite often unclear what to do and/or deductions that are not logical (pale skin = malnutrition - yeah, sure, no other possible explanations for that) horribly cludgy quick-time events and overall controls. Combine that with an auto-save system that often does not let you retry. The Boules competition mini-game is one of the worst examples of controls I've ever played.

A good continuation of the game series, a small open world appeared where you can walk and walk. They added new puzzles, but some of them, in my opinion, are very difficult and uninteresting. I just don’t understand why they changed Watson’s face, he doesn’t look like himself from the old versions of the game at all. My rating: ✭✭✭✭✰

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, developed by Frogwares and released on Steam in 2016, is a narrative-driven detective adventure that continues the long-running series of Sherlock Holmes games while experimenting with new mechanics and a more cinematic presentation. Building on the investigative formula that defined its predecessors, this installment attempts to blend traditional detective gameplay with action sequences and more emotionally driven storytelling. The result is a game that succeeds in atmosphere and intrigue but occasionally stumbles in pacing and mechanical execution. Set in a richly detailed Victorian London, the game once again places players in the shoes of the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes, who is joined by his loyal companion Dr. John Watson. The story begins with the arrival of a mysterious young girl, Katelyn, whom Holmes has taken in under unusual and gradually unfolding circumstances. As Holmes tackles five standalone investigations, a darker persona...

To be honest, this game irritates me to quite some degree: The story feels disjointed, the characters remain so flat as to make one utterly disinterested in the overarching mystery, you spend seemingly half the game staring at loading screens, almost every puzzle and QTI is skippable (which turns out to be a blessing, since the developers apparently have not checked whether or not these sections are actually playable) and sometimes the writers seemingly could not decide whether they wanted to write a Sherlock game or an Indiana Jones one (i.e. the temple sequence, also known as shoehorning as many random puzzles in a case as possible). Also, which I realise is an entirely petty and personal reason, I just prefer my detectives clean shaven. Why is Sherlock unable to get rid of his beard shadow, even for the sake of a disguise?! You might be asking yourself at this point why I am recommending this game if I dislike it so much? Well, firstly because Steam is not giving me an option to ind...

Such a lovely continuation to the famous Sherlock Holmes' series. Complex characters and very interactive games and puzzles. The graphics and visuals are beautiful and enriching. However, i personally would have preferred if Detective Sherlock Holmes' companion, Dr. John Watson had more roles. Also, a huge problem i have faced that honestly was very close to making me quite the game is the amount of times it lagged and exited the game. Considering this is a fairly new game it shouldn't lag as much especially when compared to older games that ran very smoothly. Overall, and over looking the annoying lags this game is lovely and i would totally recommend it.

This is an excellent but brief Holmes game. It is the most action packed of the series.

Id say its one of my favorite in the franchise. I love that even if the gameplay is different and the style changed, the story continue from older games. Usually, sherlock holmes is just a continuities of cases, but the facts that this time there was a next makes it even more special. I lowkey cried finishing it 10/10 would cry again for my sweet kate. (also the enigme arent all hard so thats nice)
