So far it's more enjoyable than I expected. Like other FPP (first person puzzler) games in the wake of Portal (QUBE, Polarity etc), it's obviously a low budget game by a small team, and doesn't have the best visuals or polish. But the mechanics are solid, and there's enough interesting puzzles and content for a good amount of hours yet. The level I just completed was rather simple to finish, but had some more interesting puzzling to get the collectibles as well. If you enjoyed the other games I mentioned, I think you'll enjoy this too. I paid sale price but wouldn't have been dissapointed at the regular price, it's so cheap anyway. Also the mining reminds me of the glass house tech demo in the original Red Faction.

About This Game
The game contains many puzzles, deadly traps, and bloodthirsty monsters. You will have to use clever and unconventional ways to get past them.
By finding treasure you can boost your abilities, making your quest for freedom and a well-earned vacation slightly easier to achieve. Get a scanner to see through walls or a scifi version of the good old ninja rope to be the king of the rock jungle!
And of course there's a story! Something weird is going on in the mines. Your employer isn't what it looks like, you are hearing strange voices, and there's some maniac running around in the mines and sabotaging things. What's your role in all of it? Find out!
There's also multi-player! Whereas the single-player mode is more about adventuring and solving puzzling problems, the multi-player mode is all about fast-paced action and destruction! The dynamic environment and many different weapons, tools, and tricks allow endless tactical possibilities to beat your enemies.

Totally digging this game. Like a 3D version of Dig Dug!
I'm very impressed with the game so far. Interesting, fun game play and soundtracks are great as well. This game is easily worth 4 dollars. Was a ABSOLUTE bargain for .79 cents... go on....BUY IT !
This is the absolute best find I've made on steam. If it had multiplayer lobbies I would play it ALL. DAY. Currently recruiting friends to play with me because the multiplayer is some of the most fun I've ever had. I don't even know how to describe it. Force field, disentegrators, force gun, rope swing, dig, build, OH MY GOD BUY THIS GAME. And I didn't even mention the single player campaign/puzzles are INCREDIBLE. 10/10.
This game is very Portal-esque in a spiritual way. It does, however manage to create a great spirit of exploration. I actually feel the need to dig more, and the puzzles are challenging to boot.
Very fun and good game to play with friends, worth the price for some good entertainment
The portal fans will love this ;) I do...
Crazy 3D mining! Nothing common with Portal. Love it. Level-design is great! Lovely music. Mustplay!
Sandmason is an older game from 2015. It's a venerable 10 years old at the time of this review. It's a unique concept, leaning heavily on destructible terrain mechanics most popular in games like Deep Rock Galactic and Red Faction. The idea is that you're a space miner, and you use mining tools to destroy terrain and harvest material, which you can then use to build structure... and that core element of gameplay is required to solve the various puzzle levels, thus completing the game loop. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. This feels like both a game before it's time, and yet for 2015, feels dated out of the box (remember, 2015 gave us games like The Witcher 3, Cities Skylines and Just Cause 3....
