It's hard for me to say anything nice about a game in which I couldn't beat a single stage. The difficulty in this game is right on par with Silver Surfer for the NES -- that is to say, it's next to impossible. I get that this game is meant to emulate 80s platformers, but it did so in all the wrong ways. One thing that bothered me greatly was the lack of checkpoints. Every time you die, you start back at the beginning of the stage. Unless, of course, I hadn't yet reached a checkpoint in the stage, which only compounds the difficulty issue. Another problem is that, like many platformers of that era, the game relies on pixel-perfect jumps as a means of coaxing cheap deaths from the player. Speaking of which, the game also tries to include the Ninja Gaiden style of wall jumping, but it doesn't feel as fluid as that game. I find that a frequent problem in games of this type; they want to emulate Ninja Gaiden, but in the end all it does is make you wish you were playing that instead...

About This Game
GunWorld is a love letter to 8-bit action games, it's an homage to everything great about classic game design and action heroes of the 1980s! An emphasis on high challenge and non-linear progression means GunWorld is not for the faint of heart. Players will be challenged to complete a series of levels in any order they choose, unlocking new weaponry as they do. With each new piece of equipment additional options present themselves, encouraging experimentation and repeated level runs.

Ths is a retro style game with level reset after every death. The graphics remind you of arcade games of the 70's and 80's. I can neither recommend positive or negatively for this game. It is a matter of choice.
There is no doubt about it that this is a difficult game to beat, but that just makes the eventual success that much better. A very faithful retro-style game (working mostly within actual limitations of games/hardware made in that era), GunWorld is a very enjoyable callback to the games that many people grew up with. The original story is a welcome experience in an era where we see sequel after sequel and the music provides just the right atmosphere for the gun-toting, platforming adventures that await you. Highly recommended.
really good game and i like the old feel of it, but it is like impossible to beat levels so maybe add checkpoints and make it easier, and maybe have a character select not just one black dude with a gun. also make it easier to "grow" other guns. but, if u did that the game would be a masterpiece.

Bought this game...had it in inventory a while...installed it....got sucked in. Love this game..but if you are not very good at games...well you might not enjoy it. Difficult but very pretty and you can tell they spent a good amount of time on art and design. 10/10. Would play again!
2D action platformer with a stupid weapon system... weapons have limited ammo but you can collect seeds, you drop seeds that grow plants holding the representive gun. Either than that it's pretty hard and unforgiving but not the fun type. Bad placement of checkpoints eliminate the motivation to go on.
5/10
