About This Game

Shoot For The Stars is a physics based rage-platformer where you are a pistol.

YOU YEARN FOR THE STARS!

As you stare out your window to watch the night sky, you feel you belong among them! But you must earn your place and it won't be easy!

HOW FAR CAN YOU CLIMB?

In this physics based rage-platformer, you move by using a combination of leveraging your barrel and your limited ammo to propel you upwards. Master precise aiming, momentum control, and recoil physics to navigate various obstacles, platforms, and heartbreaking falls. Keep an eye on your bullet count or else you may be left falling while reloading.

Can you make it to the stars? Or will you give up at the bottom?

Really nice fun rage game, a little to easy for non casual players sadly, but overall very nice. Could have more features like special bullets that have different abilitys, or maybe anti gravity fields or smt like that :D

This is such a good froodian game. It actually allows saves while still following the concept, but never making it too easy. Also has an amazing community with it. 10/10 (And cheap)

The shooting is a fun twist on the standard ragebait mechanic. Consider my rage baited. 🙃

I don't enjoy the mixel aesthetic, there's no option to set the resolution in settings even in windowed, and I overall don't enjoy this game. Even setting my dislike of this particular genre of game aside, again, the mixel aesthetic is just bad and I don't feel that this game innovates upon other, better, more polished iterations of the genre like Getting Over It.

TLDR: This is a great entry point for me for the "getting overt it" genre! Game is great. Patience is the key. GL! Alrighty. My first proper "getting over it" type of the game. I played some 3D ones like "chained together" before, but nothing alike this. After slight research, looks like this is the closest we got to the getting over it (IMO). Took me close to 10h to finish it (with slight help of twitch chatters). I think experience is unique and forgiving. Gun has enough shots for me to save myself. Yes, the challenge is still there and there are plenty spots to show off my gunplay skills, but in the same time game is beatable without multiple broken mouses/gamepads (at least fore me). YES, controller support is here worked fine with my ps4 controller! I won't go into which one is better. Finished game with a mouse. I can see cons and pros to the price. it's worth for me as I have a goal in mind to play around 100h. I enjoy gunplay a lot!

I simultaneously love/hate this dev team. If my rage helps pay their bills, then I'll gladly accept this sadistic gameplay

My cozy genre :D (I mean that 100% unironically. I used to unwind from competitive games back pre-Covid by doing a run or two of Getting Over It. Eventually got my time down to 5m30s, with over a hundred clears. This iteration is one of the best I've played in the genre. You never feel like you're not in control, your skill level is more important than janky geometry, and balancing reloads and bullet cooldown feels really good. Once you find the rhythm, climbing becomes really soothing! Got my first clear in about 3 hours, now I'm gonna try to get my time under 10 minutes, and find more skips :)

Gameplay concept is fun but I can't bring myself to actually finish it because of the abhorrent difficulty balancing; call this a skill issue but having to do one section over 50 times due to the section after it being 300x harder than it became very boring very quickly (it's the section with the plungers and billboards seen in the fourth screenshot on the store page if you're curious. I got stuck there for nearly an hour before giving up), and yes I understand this is supposed to be a rage game but this was less rage-inducing and more "I don't feel like playing this anymore"-inducing to me. Also, the game has ai generated artwork in it (a pickle holding a paintbrush and probably a few other things i didn't get far enough to see) so take of that what you will. TL;DR game was fun until balancing was thrown out the window, and it has ai art in it.
