About This Game

ErfCity is a minimalist city-building puzzle game that challenges your strategic thinking and planning skills. Place buildings on a grid to gather points, but placement is key—your score depends on how cleverly you position buildings near each other.

Each round, you'll be offered a choice of 3 random buildings to place on the grid. Choose wisely as synergies between different building types tend to drastically change you score.

ErfCity offers two unique ways to play:

In Challenge Mode, you, the player must carefully plan their city within a set number of turns, maximizing points through synergies. Every decision counts.
Sandbox Mode provides a more relaxed, experimental experience, allowing for free building placement - without restrictions. This mode is perfect for testing strategies, exploring different layouts, and simply enjoying the creative process of city-building.

Not Recommended

Not very fun. Bare bones, and they decided to use learning how to play as the learning curve, leaving you without any guidance. You get three types of buildings to place, and there are little icons showing you what does well next to what, and poorly next to some other. It is all very bare bones, graphics and sound add nothing to the experience. I don't get any sense of accomplishment, and the game loop, if there is one, is lacking. One thumb down, it all seems to work, which makes it better than some games I have purchased, but it really isn't any fun. I will probably try it a bit more, try out the sandbox mode, but I will be surprised if anything pops up to change my mind.
