Ideas that would make this game better: 1. Have us right click bait and rods so we have the ability to stop the idle from changing it. 2. A notification when something bites the bait, like a (!) marker like Stardew Valley. 3. Visible fish in the boat the more you have. It can be comically large. 4. Have pets be useful, like making noise when it can sense a trophy/legendary fish. 5. Actual person & pet customisation instead of it being a randomizer. I imagine cat lovers would be upset they can't get a tuxedo or another breed besides ginger. And believe me, that's the calmest ginger cat I've ever seen. 6. Leaderboards. Be it random NPC names or actual players. 7. A seasonal change, have certain times of the year have different fish, trophies and legendaries. Winter, Summer, Spring, Autumn. 8. Shiny fish. Rare colour varients that sell higher and/or are trophy fish. 9, Larger boats which could theoredically have a co-op idea. (Maybe) I rather enjoy this game. Not much to say, it can get ...

About This Game
Cast n Chill's a laid-back fishin’ game for folks who’d rather wet a line than break a sweat. Whether yer driftin’ on a lazy lake, pokin’ 'round a winding river, or droppin’ lines in salty blue water, this here’s a game where you set the pace.
Upgrade Yer Gear
Start with the basics, catch whatever bites, sell your haul, and put those coins toward better rods, reels, and upgrades. Before ya know it, you’ll be wranglin’ rare species that’d make any angler green with envy.

Explore New Waters
Find yer favourite fishin’ hole or keep wanderin’. There’s 13 peaceful spots to discover, each with its own critters swimmin’ 'round, just waitin’ to bite.
Pick Your Pace
In Active Mode, you’re in the thick of it - castin’, reelin’, and keepin’ busy like a loon at nesting time.
Switch to Passive Mode if you’d rather let the game do the work while you’re off choppin’ wood.
Set it up on a second monitor or tuck it in the corner - come back later and see what kind o’ haul the fish gods left ya.
Collect 'Em All
There’s 50 fish to discover - some you’ll recognize, some you’ll squint at and go “what in the heck is that?” From scrappy little sunfish to big ol’ deepwater beasts, they’re all in the logbook waitin’ for your name.

Legendary Catches
There’s 13 fish out there that still get folks jabberin’ at ol' Rusty's bait shop like they saw Bigfoot ride a moose. Land one, and you'll be part o' the legend.
Boat Buddies
A day on the water’s better with company. Bring along a trusty companion. They might not know a spinnerbait from a spoon, but they’ll help you spot a fish - if only 'cause they’re hopin’ for a bite themselves.

User Reviews
Warning due to all the positive reviews. - the game has no story, no quest, nothing All you do is fish or let it idle and it fishes for you. Deliver the fish, upgrade gear or unlock maps and repeat. It is absolutely not worth the money they ask for this game. I let myself be deluded by the positive reviews. It is a waste of time and money. Positive aspects: - the graphic is fine since you can see it already in the screenshots - the music is very nice - doggie!!! But that is not enough to support that price for which you can buy a much bigger game at this point.
I really enjoy pixel style idler games BUT i wish it had more to it, I have played many idlers that have a lot more to it then this game does, at a quarter the price. I could have bought a few idlers for the price of this one. Personally think its over priced for what it is, once i opened the game i was a little underwhelmed. The art is extremely nice, especially when you take a few steps back from the screen! for the art alone i give a positive review.
Cast n Chill is not a bad game by any means but it's a game I can't really recommend to most players. It has beautiful pixel art, stunning scenarios and... that's it, that's all I can praise it for. At the moment of this review there are 13 different fishing spots and a total of 50 fishes. If you're not a completionist you'll be done in like 7 hours I believe, which are going to be way more if you use this game in idle mode. The game can be in fact played actively or passively, but both of these modes fall short because active mode is just a kind of repetitive fishing simulator spiced up a bit by the usual upgrade system on your gear, and passive mode doesn't really function so well that you can actually peek at the screen every 15-20 minutes and feel like the AI got things done for you (at least not in every fishing spot). Another gripe I have with the game are the controls. I wish they were snappier and more cleverly done. I get that the devs probably don't want the player to be in ...
It's a good game but I feel like $15 is maybe a bit too high for what the game has to offer. If it had more content, the price tag would feel more worth it. It's gorgeous game that feels very well designed and has a fun, chill gameplay loop. I think the active + idle combination is really neat, but as an idler there's definitely not enough content. If you are looking specifically for an idler there's not enough here IMO. If you're looking for a cozy, relaxing, beautiful fishing game I would definitely recommend it. I did everything there was to do in the game in 15 hours, and only used idle mode for a few minutes here and there. And maybe no one else except me cares... but as an avid IRL fisherman some of the incorrect/unrealistic species depictions and locations took away from my enjoyment. It's like whoever made this just did some cursory googling and called up their cousin who fishes a couple times a year. Especially because they were clearly going for a realistic approach (using r...
I love fishing games and this is most a beautiful one with some wonderful audio and music. Gameplay is challenging enough for me to not call it a "chill game", more of a semi tryhard fishing game, but that's only my taste. People that enjoy pixel grafics, relaxing audio background and the occasional excitement from pulling up a big catch will enjoy the game!
Played it in one session (11.1hr) without sleep which kinda destroyed the chill part beause I was really mad when I couldnt find a small fish or trophy fish near the end, but I enjoyed it. I havent used the Idle mod and maybe thats why I dont see a point for it even being in game but that my problem. The pixel art is beutiful + the sound of a big fish splashing around while you reel it in is soo satisfying Overall it is an amazing game but it is not made for everyone mostly because of the slower gameplay and stuff... Even so I would give it 9/10 just because there is zero story and for example I would like to know more about Rusty (some kind of backstory) + the overall reel gameplay could be more interesting (but again those are just my things that I would prefer so mainly the problem is on my side) My first language is not english and I am too lazy to do diacritics and stuff so the text may be annoying sorry :P)
Bought the game for fishing & my dog in the supporter pack, stayed for the vibes and beautiful graphics. An amazing little game to take your mind off of things with an Idle mode if you need to step away.
Game is gorgeous but it's too difficult to reel in fish for a relaxing second screen game. Wish the game gave better feedback so I knew what I was doing wrong.
The game is nice and cozy, but there is just too little content. The amount of fish to collect is very small and its overall not that much better than just getting an animated wallpaper because that about all it is.
