From the very beginning I could tell this game would not be for me. The guide being open does nothing to pause any of the constant effects in the game, such as the sanity loss. The first few minutes I played I read the guide, because it seemed like a good idea. Then I was stumbling around without sanity for all of another two minutes and the clown got me. Then, when you respawn, all the items move. Ok, but ... the clown doesn't, not really. The balloons around the map act like land mines for your sanity and can suddenly spawn the clown. Only, there are frequently two posted on either side of an item you need to pick up. So he hears you, you're losing sanity, AND you need to move quickly and check random locations at which pills, an important item, or the clown will have spawned. The clown might not run, but HE doesn't run out of stamina. You can duck into one of three (?) lockers at the front and he can't see you, then will walk away.
